{"id":50163,"date":"2016-06-14T12:43:35","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T11:43:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=50163"},"modified":"2016-06-14T12:43:35","modified_gmt":"2016-06-14T11:43:35","slug":"ceasefire-not-repair-bombed-pipelines-niger-delta-avengers-warn-oil-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/ceasefire-not-repair-bombed-pipelines-niger-delta-avengers-warn-oil-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"Ceasefire: Do Not Repair Bombed Pipelines, Niger Delta Avengers Warn Oil Companies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u2026Warn Buhari against turning talks to political jamboree<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In accepting to halt its campaign of oil pipeline bombing across the Niger<br \/>\nDelta and embrace dialogue, the Niger Delta Avengers warned oil<br \/>\ncorporations not to resume repairs of damaged oil pipeline or attempt<br \/>\nshipping oil out of the Niger Delta region until the peace process is<br \/>\nconsummated.<\/p>\n<p>The group that claimed responsibility for bombing of oil and gas<br \/>\ninstallations in the region since February cutting oil output from 2.1<br \/>\nmillionbpd to 600,000bpd, in a statement on its website, asked government<br \/>\nto commit oil companies and other stakeholders to the negotiation table in<br \/>\norder for it to halt its &#8216;\u00f6peration red economy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe high command of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) is using this medium<br \/>\nto restate that there are no new items to put on the table for dialogue,<br \/>\nwe only want a genuine attitude and conducive atmosphere that will make<br \/>\nus commit to any proposed dialogue and last peace talk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want the federal government to commit members states of the<br \/>\nmultinational Oil Corporations to commit independent mediators to this<br \/>\nproposed dialogue; we believed that it is only such environment that will<br \/>\nengender genuine dialogue that will be aimed at setting up a framework for<br \/>\nachieving the short, medium and long term demands of the Niger delta to<br \/>\nde-escalating this conflict and bring about a lasting peace,\u201d the group<br \/>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>It further warned President Buhari not to see the dialogue as an<br \/>\nopportunity to usher in a political jamboree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they refuse to heed our advice will result to sinking of two their<br \/>\nmother vessel as an example to others They should not undertake any repair<br \/>\nof pipeline, oil and gas facilities that are damaged or attacked by our<br \/>\nforces during this period of \u201cOperation Red Economy\u201d until and\/or after<br \/>\nthe dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are using this medium to warn and condemn the activities of all brands<br \/>\nof social media agitators being peddled around by some politicians to<br \/>\npromote their criminal ways in the affairs of the Niger Delta. This<br \/>\ngenuine spirit behind our struggle for the Niger Delta cannot be derailed<br \/>\non the basis of connivance by politicians, traditional rulers, settled ex-<br \/>\nagitators and criminals moving around to fill their pockets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe issues of the Niger delta are as old and as new as the days of Pa.<br \/>\nDappa Biriye, Major Jasper Isaac Adaka Boro, to Ken Saro Wiwa and the<br \/>\ngovernment of President Musa Yar\u2019 Adua. We are warning this government of<br \/>\nPresident Muhammadu Buhari, not to turn the essence of genuine peace talk<br \/>\nand dialogue to political jamboree that is prevailing now where all<br \/>\nmanner of social media agitators and criminals have being sponsored by<br \/>\nthe job seeking corrupt political class to save faces before the<br \/>\ngovernment of the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinally, if need be we may review our earlier stance of not taking<br \/>\nlives.
