The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has told President<\/p>\n
Mohammadu Buhari to return the N1.5 billion the State money donated to
\nfund his election by former governor of the State, Dr Kayode Fayemi.<\/p>\n
The party said \u201cequity and justice demand that Buhari should return
\nwhat he got from Ekiti State treasury through Fayemi, if he is running
\nafter those who allegedly got money from the Office of the National
\nSecurity Adviser (ONSA).\u201d<\/p>\n
State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Jackson Adebayo said in a
\nrelease issued in Ado-Ekiti on Monday that the N1.5 billion, if
\nreturned will go a long way in cushioning the effects of the dwindling
\neconomic fortune of the State, especially payment of workers salary.<\/p>\n
Fayemi, who is now Buhari\u2019s Minister of Solid Minerals reportedly
\ntransferred N1.5 billion from his account in a bank located along
\nLiberation Square, Accra, Ghana to the APC Presidential Campaign Fund
\naccount \u201cin other to place him in a vantage position for ministerial
\nappointment should Buhari wins the February 14 Presidential election,\u201d
\nand true to his expectation, he was appointed minister.<\/p>\n
\u201cN1.5 billion is a lot of money and Ekiti State government will only
\nneed to add some millions to be able to pay one month salary if Buhari
\nreturns the money.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe APC government of Fayemi left office with August and September
\n2014 salaries of workers unpaid but the same Fayemi could donate
\nN1.5bn to Buhari\u2019s campaign just because he wanted to be minister.
\nWhere then is the morality in Buhari\u2019s anti-corruption posture when he
\nwas funded with stolen fund?<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President must therefore return the N1.5 billion stolen from
\nEkiti State that was used to fund his election,\u201d the PDP said.<\/p>\n
While reiterating the PDP\u2019s support for the fight against corruption,
\nthe party said \u201cPresident Buhari must first remove the logs in his
\neyes before his attempt to remove the toothpicks in other people\u2019s
\neyes can be taken seriously and the first step he must take is to
