{"id":51302,"date":"2016-07-18T21:23:59","date_gmt":"2016-07-18T20:23:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=51302"},"modified":"2016-07-18T22:15:46","modified_gmt":"2016-07-18T21:15:46","slug":"remain-loyal-apc-believe-buhari-says-saraki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/remain-loyal-apc-believe-buhari-says-saraki\/","title":{"rendered":"I Remain Loyal To APC, I believe In Buhari, Says Saraki"},"content":{"rendered":"<pre>Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Monday restated his loyalty\r\nto the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).\r\n\r\nSaraki also reiterated his belief that the President Muhammadu Buhari's\r\ngovernment will redeem its electoral promises made during the 2015 general\r\nelections.\r\n\r\nThe Senate President spoke at the 10th Abuja Housing Show where top\r\ngovernment officials and prominent stakeholders in the housing sector\r\nbrainstormed on the theme: \u201cExpanding Access To Affordable Housing In\r\nAfrica.\u201d\r\n\r\nAcknowledging the presence of the APC National Organizing Secretary,\r\nSenator Osita Izunaso who earlier kick-started discussions at the summit,\r\nSaraki assured that the APC government is unwaveringly committed to the\r\nsocial welfare of the people while re-affirming his unalloyed loyalty to\r\nthe party.\r\n\r\n\u201cThe Senate and the National Assembly as a whole believe very strongly\r\nthat we must make a difference in the housing sector,\u201d he said.\r\nThe Senate President, reacting to observations that the existing housing\r\nlaws need respective amendment and repeal, charged the organizers of the\r\nSummit to take a further step by forwarding a document of laws requiring\r\namendments to the National Assembly.\r\n\r\n\u201cI assure you that action will be taken instantaneously,\u201d Saraki promised.\r\n\r\nSaraki asserted that the Senate has commenced the review processes of\r\nseveral laws affecting property rights and access housing in the country.\r\n\r\nAccording to him, the review of the National Housing Fund Act is on-going\r\nand would be completed before the end of the year.\r\n\r\nAccording to the APC National Organizing Secretary, Senator Izunaso,\r\nhousing deficit in Nigeria is pegged at 17million housing units.\r\n\r\n\"As at today, only 10 per cent of those who dream to own a house in the\r\ncountry can afford it, as against the 92 per cent house owners in\r\nSingapore.\r\n\r\n\"The central objective of the Summit, however, is to come up with feasible\r\nstrategies on how to end the problem of homelessness in Nigeria,\" Ozunaso\r\nsaid.\r\n\r\nOther personalities at the Summit include the representative of the\r\nSpeaker of House of Reps, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing,\r\nBabatunde Raji Fashola, Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,\r\nTurkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Hakan \u00c7ak\u0131l, TUC President, Comrade Bobboi\r\nKaigama, among other investors.\r\n<\/pre>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Monday restated his loyalty to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
