.A political stalwart and elder statesman, Chief Abiola Ogundokun, has
\npraised President Mohammadu Buhari’s resolve to unveil those behind the
\nassasination of the former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the
\nFederation, Chief Ajibola Ige, and the late Peoples Democratic Party,
\nDeputy National Chairman, Chief Aminosari Dokubo.<\/p>\n
In a statement by him, Ogundokun said Buhari was on the right track with
\nthe order he gave the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim
\nIdris, to re-open the files on the two high profile cases.<\/p>\n
According to him, the order by Mr. President, no doubt, would send the
\nsignal to criminally-minded Nigerians that no one was above the law and
\nthat justice would not again elude the families of the victims.<\/p>\n
However, he charged President Buhari to ensure that other high profile
\nmurder cases, including the assassination of the late Lagos State PDP
\nleader, Funsho Williams, be given equal attention to make his good
\nintention be acceptable by all Nigerians.<\/p>\n
He said: “It is very unacceptable for the evil to continue to thrive and
\nthe aggreived and the bereaved not to get justice. The perpetrators and
\nsponsors of these grusome murder cases, no doubt, are moving freely about
\nunchallenged and this is enough reason for many to lose faith in the
\nnation’s judicial system.<\/p>\n
“Mr. President’s resolve to unearth the mystery of these cases would go a
\nlong way to restore our confidence thatthe nation belongs to all of us and
\nnot the few that belive they can commit crimes and get away unpunished. I
\nbeileve evidences are still fresh to prosecute these cases and bring the
\nperpetrators of the heineous acts to justice.”<\/p>\n
The Publisher of the Conscience Magazine International and National
\nPublicity Secretary of the defunct National Party of Nigeria, noted that
\nre-opening the Ige and Dokubo’s murder cases must have brought a relief to
\nthe the two great politicians’ families that hope was in sight for them to
\nget justice for their loved ones.
\nThe Iwo-born politician, therefore, rallied support of Nigerians for the
\nanti-corruption fight of the Buhari administration and effort to revamp
\nthe ailing national economy, adding that creating “a plartform for social
\njustice is a worthy legacy any\u00a0 government can leave behind after its
