In order to tackle the notorious traffic congestion along the Nyanya axis,
\nthe FCT Administration will work assiduously to complete the
\nmulti-million-Naira modern Nyanya transport terminal.<\/p>\n
The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, gave this assurance when he
\nand the FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye paid an unscheduled
\nvisit to the old Nyanya bus terminal bombed by terrorists in 2014.<\/p>\n
The Minister also visited the new Nyanya Transport terminal under
\nconstruction which is about 62 percent complete, and is expected to gulp a
\ntotal sum of N628,265,998.63.<\/p>\n
The development of a new Nyanya bus terminal was conceived by the FCT
\nAdministration to provide a secure and convenient facility with adequate
\nservices for use by commuters, sequel to the series of bombing at the old
\nNyanya Motor Park, which led to the loss of many lives.<\/p>\n
Malam Bello however expressed displeasure over the commencement of the
\nproject without taking into account the construction of an access road to
\nthe new terminal.<\/p>\n
He wondered why such a gigantic project would start without the award of
\ncontract for the construction of the necessary road network to connect
\nmotorists in and out of the terminal.<\/p>\n
The minister therefore, reiterated that everything would be done within
\nhis power to ensure that the terminal is completed and made operational to
\nnot only tackle traffic congestion in that axis, but to also improve
\nsecurity of the motoring public.<\/p>\n
The construction work which began in the first quarter of 2015 is expected
\nto provide arrival terminal building, departure terminal building,
\nsecurity block, bank, driver\u2019s lodge, maintenance block, communication
\nblock and commercial block. Other structures under construction also
\ninclude a church, a mosque, an administrative block as well as public
