Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has relieved the
\nChairman of the Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin of his
\nposition.<\/p>\n
Sources informed Pointblanknews.com that the decision was reached after
\nseveral meetings between the Speaker and President Mohammadu Buhari over
\nthe 2016 Budget padding fraud.<\/p>\n
According to sources, Rep. Jubril and some other unnamed persons in
\nGovernment were linked with the padding of the 2016 Budget.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com gathered that during several meetings with the
\nPresident, Dogara was presented with details of how the Budget was padded
\nby lawmakers and some Government officials.<\/p>\n
The Speaker, sources hinted, pleaded with the President and promised to
\nhandle the situation.<\/p>\n
Dogara thereafter informed Rep. Jibrin of the outcome of his meetings with
\nthe President and ask that he resign from his position as Chairman of the
\nAppropriation Committee.<\/p>\n
But Jibrin claim in a press statement that he was not sacked but rather
\nresigned honorably to “let peace reign.”<\/p>\n
