In a swift reaction to President Muhammadu Buhari claims on Thursday that<\/p>\n
the Federal Government was speaking to Niger Delta militants through the
\noil companies and security agencies, Niger Delta Avengers said there were
\nno such peace dialogues.<\/p>\n
The rampaging group said if it was true, it means the government was
\nengaging mercenaries put in place to disrupt the genuine struggle of the
\n\u2018\u2019agitators\u2019\u2019, accusing the President of not being sincere with the Niger
\nDelta people.<\/p>\n
The group said if it was going to accept the olive branch from Abuja,
\ninternational community must be part of it , advising the government to
\nstop deceiving the general public as its demands were well articulated.
\nIts spokesperson, Brigadier Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, stated \u201cOur attention has
\nbeen drawn to media report that the President is in touch with Niger Delta
\nagitators, including the Niger Delta Avengers, but the truth is that we
\nare not aware of any peace talks.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there is any such peace talk, it means the President is talking to their
\nmercenaries set to disturb the genuine struggle of the agitators.
\nPresident Buhari led government is not sincere to the Nigeria people and
\ntheir foreign allies.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we are to engage in any peace talks, we made it clear that the
\ninternational community must be part of it. The President knows our
\ndemands. Therefore, they should stop deceiving the international oil
\ncompanies, the general public and the international community.<\/p>\n
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday, affirmed that his
\nadministration was dialoguing with Niger Delta militants to ensure
\nstoppage of the bombings of oil and gas pipelines.<\/p>\n
The President spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and
\nPublicity, Garba Shehu , while granting farewell audience to the outgoing
\nAmbassador of Germany to Nigeria, Mr. Michael Zinner, at the Presidential
\nVilla, Abuja.<\/p>\n
According to Buhari, the dialogues were being done through oil firms and
\nlaw-enforcement agencies and there were meant to find enduring solution to
\ninsecurity in the region, adding his administration was studying the
\ninstruments of the Presidential Amnesty Programme inherited from the
\nprevious administrations so as to implement it to the letter.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand their feelings, we are studying the instruments, we have to
\nsecure the environment otherwise investment will not come. We will do our
