Former Minister of Finance, Adamu Ciroma, said the Peoples Democratic
\nParty (PDP) did not lose the 2015 presidential election neither did the
\nAll Progressives Congress (APC) win it.<\/p>\n
Ciroma said this in Abuja on Monday while receiving members of PDP Board
\nof Trustee (BOT) led by its Chairman, Sen. Jibrin Walid.<\/p>\n
According to him, in spite of the fact that the Federal Government is
\nbeing led by the APC, the PDP is dominating political discuss.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cJust before the last elections and when we saw the trend of
\nevents, I warned members of the PDP to prepare itself for whatever
\neventuality that may come.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, PDP didn\u2019t lose and APC didn\u2019t win because APC has a lot to do.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you talk about politics, you talk about PDP. When you talk of
\npolitics, people talk about PDP as If APC does not exist. So far, APC is
\nnot playing the right role\u200e.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Noting that any party that got into power must make mistakes, the elder
\nstatesman advised fellow party members to prepare ahead of the 2019
\nelections, \u201cespecially as the APC will continue to make mistakes\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n
He challenged PDP members to play positive roles in politics as there
\nwould always be several parties, hence, they must learn to make the masses
\nthe centrepiece of their developmental projects.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolitics will always be there,\u2019\u2019 he said, adding that \u201cthere must be good
\nand bad people who participate in it.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody who participates in politics does so for good cause and that
\ngood cause is of the interest and political stability of all Nigerians.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere will not be one party; there will always be one political party or
\nthe others.<\/p>\n
\u201cI insist that people must play the rightful role in politics and that
\nrole is to promote the interest of the poor masses.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnybody can make a mistake. The beauty of it is that every party that has
\na chance to rule has the chance to make mistakes.<\/p>\n
\u201cAPC will make a lot of mistakes and the PDP must be ready to put things
\nright and all of you must be ready to contribute, participate and get
\ninvolved for the interests of ordinary Nigerians.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Earlier in his address, Walid said \u200ethat the visit was \u201cpart of strategies
\nmapped-out to visit well-recognized founding fathers and leaders of the
\nPDP to tap from their advice on the way forward for the party.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe promise you that we shall remain the conscience of our party,\u2019\u2019 he
\nassured.<\/p>\n
Members of the BoT on the entourage included former President of the
\nSenate, Adolphus Wabara, former Deputy President of the Senate, Ibrahim
