Former, Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday stated that the
\ncurrent allegation of Budget padding by Hon. Abdulmumuni Jibrin confirms
\nhis earlier assertion that members of the National Assembly are robbers
\nand rogues.<\/p>\n
Obasanjo said what the country needs right now are men and women of
\nintegrity, warning President Mohammadu Buhari to beware of men and women
\nwho constitutes the National Assembly.<\/p>\n
While speaking with State House correspondents\u00a0 at the Presidential Villa,
\nafter a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari,\u00a0 Obasanjo advised Buhari
\nto be vigilant.
\nHe said; \u201cWell, if you said that I have said it in the past and if there
\nare people who didn\u2019t believe what I said \u200ein the past then, you can now
\nsee that what has come out confirms what I said in the past. Then what I
\nsaid in the past is what I will say now.
\nObasanjo who was reacting to the current counter between the Speaker,
\nHouse of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara and the sacked Chairman
\nof Appropriation Committee, Honourable Abdulmumin Jibrin said; \u201cIt\u2019s not
\nquestion of investigation, we should get men and women of integrity in the
\nplace and the President should be very vigilant, whatever should not pass
\nshould not pass.\u201d
\nObasanjo, had earlier in January,2016, claimed that the National Assembly
\nand State Houses of Assembly were filled with armed robbers and rogues.
\nOn the purpose of his visit, Obasanjo said he came bearing messages to the
\nPresident.
\nHe said: \u201cNot too long ago, I was in Liberia and Gambia and I have
\nmessages these two countries will want me to deliver to the president.
\n\u201cAlso, only yesterday I came back from Seychelles Island where I attended
\nthis year\u2019s Annual General meeting of Africa Export Development Bank. And
\nthere are aspects of the proceedings that I think I should update the
