The Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation said Sunday that Edo<\/p>\n
people had developed beyond the level of winning elections through any
\nmeans of financial inducement, saying the electorate are ready to reject
\nand punish the \u2018\u2019Pseudo Comrade\u2019\u2019, Adams Oshiomhole, and his party, the
\nAll People Congress (APC) on September 10 for subjecting them to untold
\nhardship in the past seven and a half years.<\/p>\n
The campaign organisation also stated that it is malicious and spiteful to
\nblame Ize-Iyamu for whatever might have been the mistake of the past
\nadministrations, including that of Oshimhole.<\/p>\n
In a press statement issued by the Media Unit of the campaign, it said that
\nOshiomhole and APC by their actions, are waging unnecessary war against
\nthe people of Edo, adding that it is \u2018\u2019ungodly and inhuman\u2019\u2019 for the
\nout-going governor to have recently induced some selected innocent women
\nwith N120 million —- for the purpose of election, when pensioners and
\nlocal government workers have not been paid 10 to 15 months salaries.<\/p>\n
Governor Oshiomhole recently donated N120 million to some selected market
\nwomen at the Dr. Osaigbovo Ogbemudia Staduim, Benin-City, thanking them
\nfor supporting his administration and added that the APC governorship
\ncandidate, Godwin Obaseki would do more if elected.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, \u2018\u2019The good people of Edo have made up their
\nminds to take their destiny in their own hands by sensibly picking the
\nbest candidate that can move the state beyond where it is now; and that
\ncandidate is Pastor Ize-Iyamu.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019The people remain strong and focused in the on-going efforts to bring
\nabout a new State that will deliver socio-economic, healthcare,
\nemployment, skill acquisitions and other deliverable services to the
\npeople. And there is no better prepared candidate for the position in any
\nof the political parties than Pastor Ize-Iyamu.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
The campaign organisation also stated that the swelling popularity of the
\nPDP candidate and the determination of the people to vote out the APC are
\nalready making Oshiomhole and his puppet\u2019s candidate, Obaseki panicky.<\/p>\n
The campaign organisation said it is too late in the day for APC to trick
\nthe Edo people, who have made up their minds, advising the party, the
\nout-going governor and his stooge, Obaseki, to explain to the people how
\nthey hugely depleted the state treasury in the past seven and a half years
\nfor their self-aggrandisements, rather than blaming Pastor Ize-Iyamu for
\ntheir woes and afflictions.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, \u2018\u2019For all that we have heard, we are yet to be
\npersuaded by Oshiomhole\/APC\u2019s weak argument and misinformation that there
\nis a better prepared candidate for the Edo State governorship position in
\nany of the political parties than Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Having served in the past as Chief of Staff to the Edo State government
\nand later the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ize-Iyamu had
\npiloted the engine of governance and would therefore need no induction
\ncourse to swing into action from day one, just as no one can bamboozle him
\nto derail governance as can be done to a typical green horn, like Godwin
\nObaseki.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019Perhaps, the most popular criticism is that Pastor Ize Iyamu served in
\nChief Lucky Igbinedion former administration —- a government in which
\nall the critics themselves served or garnered immense advantage.<\/p>\n
\u2018\u2019And we ask: is it rational for instance, for us to blame the current
\nChief of Staff, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon and the SSG, Professor Julius
\nIhionvare, for the financial bleeding of the state in the past seven and a
\nhalf years? Surely no.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
The statement added that apart from occasional outbursts, which many people
\nrefused to understand, no one has so far refuted the story that it was the
\nsame so-called \u2018\u2019discredited government\u2019\u2019 that brought and financed
\nOshiomhole\u2019s election in 2007.<\/p>\n
The statement added: \u2018\u2019In any case, the same Ize-Iyamu whom Oshiomhole is
\nabusing today was the Director-General of his campaign organization during
\nthe last election. Is it a case of he is good when working for Oshiomhole
\nand bad for having worked for Igbinedion and very bad for seeking to work
