In a congratulatory message to Dr. Morsi, President Jonathan described his victory in the elections as well deserved, noting that the elections were an important milestone in the history of modern Egypt.<\/p>\n

It is not just an important victory for democracy but for the resilience of millions of your compatriots who have over the years, especially in the past one year, sacrificed so much for democracy in their country.<\/p>\n
