Former Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr. Bala Mohammed<\/p>\n
may be arrested over land fraud running into several billions committed
\nduring and after his administration, investigators have told
\nPointblanknews.com<\/p>\n
Investigators confirmed to Pointblanknews.com that the former FCT Minister
\nand the embattled Director of the Abuja Geographical Information
\nSystems, Haji Jamila Tangaza signed documents for the approval and
\ngranting of land allocation, Right of Occupancy (R of O) and Certificate
\nof Occupancy (C of O) months after they left office.<\/p>\n
Tangaza who was recently arrested, handcuffed and taken to the AGIS office
\nin Abuja while Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC officials searched her
\noffice, confirmed her fraudulent act to investigators.<\/p>\n
She is accused of allegedly diverting the sum of 150 million Naira.<\/p>\n
Sources told Pointblanknews.com, Tangaza, the Executive Director in
\nCharge of the lucrative AGIS, a close confidant of the former Minister,
\nwas strategically appointed to help allocate lands to cronies, relatives
\nand friends of the Minister which they later sell for Billions of Naira.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com confirmed from investigators that months after the
\nAdministration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Mohammed and
\nTangaza, signed and issued several lands to several people and backdated
\nthe documents.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe is cooperating with us and has made useful information,\u201d an
\ninvestigator who does not want to be named told Pointblanknews.com.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cone of the shocking part is her confession that months
\nafter the former Minister left office, she was still taken land papers to
\nhim to sign and backdate. We have retrieved some of the documents and
\nmoving on with the investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n
An official of the AGIS who also spoke to Pointblanknews.com confirmed
\nthat for months, Staff members were urged by the former Minister through
\nMs. Tangaza to prepare land documents for allottees which were taken to
\nthe private residence of the former Minister to sign.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes files were taken to Hajia Tangaza who takes them to him to sign. We
\nwere shocked to know that he was still signing Government documents after
\nhe left office,\u201d a staff in the AGIS office told pointblanknews.com<\/p>\n
Investigators are completing work of their findings and may arrest the
\nformer Minister over land scandals, fraud and other crimes committed under
\nhis leadership.<\/p>\n
Tangaza, who was a former Head of the Hausa Service Department of the
\nBritish Broadcasting Commission, BBC, has since been released on bail
\nawaiting trials.<\/p>\n
