The Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdul-Mummuni Kabir, has urged people to stop
\ncastigating President Muhammad Buhari over the economic challenges facing
\nthe country.<\/p>\n
Kabir made the call during inauguration of a book on family lineage of
\nlate chief Imam of Kano residing in Katsina, Muhammad Zaharaddeen, on
\nSaturday in Katsina.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has come to our knowledge that some disgruntled people are castigating
\nPresident Buhari and blaming the economic problems of the country on him.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President cannot solve the economic blunder committed in 16 years
\nwithin one year.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Buhari needs some time to marshal plans that will solve the
\nseveral challenges facing the country\u201d, he said<\/p>\n
Kabir advised Nigerians to rally round and support Buhari to enable him to
\ndischarge his duties for the betterment of the people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President needs the support and prayers of his brothers and sisters
\nfrom the North to overcome the several problems facing the North and the
\ncountry.\u201d<\/p>\n
The emir commended the author of the book for writing the book on his
\nfamily lineage that migrated to Katsina in 1894 during Hausa\/Fulani civil
\nwars.<\/p>\n
He said the book will serve as a reference material for history students
\nin tertiary institutions in the state.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Gov. Aminu Masari urged citizens to emulate the late chief imam\u2019s
\nfamily by promoting both western and islamic education.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis prominent family has produced lawyers, doctors, university
\nprofessors, administrators and politicians.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
Masari said the family had some prominent politicians like Secretary to
\nthe Government of Katsina State, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa and Sen. Hadi
\nSirike, a serving minister in Buhari\u2019s Administration.<\/p>\n
NAN reports that the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi, who was the
\nchief launcher of the book, donoted N1 million. Over N5 million was
\nrealized at the launch.<\/p>\n
The book is written by retired Aminu Abdullahi, formerly of BBC Hausa
