Spokesperson of the militants have denied issuing any Press Statement<\/p>\n
accusing Former President Jonathan, Tompolo, Senator Godswill Akpabio,
\nGovernor Nyesome Wike, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, and others as sponsors of
\nNiger Delta Avengers.<\/p>\n
A recent Press Statement issued had alleged that “A group that recently
\nsplit from Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), a militant organization that has
\nclaimed responsibility for bombing numerous oil facilities, has claimed
\nthat former President Goodluck Jonathan was the grand patron of the NDA.”<\/p>\n
The Press statement was attributed to “Cynthia Whyte, an alias for a male
\nspokesman,” and stated that “the splinter group also named several former
\nand serving governors as sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers.<\/p>\n
Those named as \u201csponsors\u201d included Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State
\nand Seriaki Dickson of Bayelsa.”<\/p>\n
But in an email sent to Pointblanknews.com from “Cynthia Whyte” denied
\nissuing the Press Statement.<\/p>\n
The statement reads:<\/p>\n
“Our attention has been drawn to a deceitful, malicious and cantankerous
\npress release issued by a con-group which calls itself the Reformed Niger
\nDelta Avengers and signed by a ‘Cynthia Whyte’.<\/p>\n
“We wish to inform the Nigerian people and unsuspecting media that both
\nthe name of the signee and the group it represents are a fraud.<\/p>\n
“Why would a Goodluck Jonathan want to fund or sponsor the renewed
\nagitation in the Niger Delta? Will it bring him back to power as President
\nof a nation as deformed as Nigeria?<\/p>\n
“Why would a Nyesom Wike, or any Governor in the Niger Delta for that
\nmatter want to fund militancy in the Niger Delta? Will it increase his
\nmonthly allocation from the center? Would a Governor of that state want to
\ncompound the insecurity issues in his state?<\/p>\n
“The contents of that media publication (and any future communication from
\nthat group) should be ignored. It clear that the group represents just how
\nfar a group of people would go to con General Buhari and his many
\nlieutenants.<\/p>\n
