The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has said that the
\nState chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) comment on the
\npurported visit of the Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari to the
\nUnited States of America (USA) as a function of total ignorance and
\nmischief, saying; \u201cEven the Presidency has not told anyone that wife
\nof the President travelled to the USA and in official communications,
\nonly ignorant and mischief makers in the APC will belief that a trip
\nto the USA will be made by Mrs Buhari and Nigerians will only get to
\nknow about it through online media.\u201d<\/p>\n
The PDP, which said it would have ignored the APC and allowed those in
\nthe party to continue to wallop in their self-deceit, added that \u201cit
\nis only in the world of the APC that wife of the President of Nigeria,
\nthe most populous black nation in the world would travel to the USA,
\nostensibly to debunk her involvement in a major scam and no television
\nstation will report her departure and arrival. The question is, did
\nshe travel to USA or Qatar?\u201d<\/p>\n
In a statement issued on Monday by the State Publicity Secretary of
\nthe PDP, Mr Jackson Adebayo, the party said; \u201cIf the Presidency has
\nnot been bold enough to tell Nigerians that Mrs Aisha Buhari travelled
\nto the USA on official visit, only a party of scammers like the APC
\nwill go on the rooftops to celebrate photoshoped pictures as evidence
\nof visit to USA.\u201d<\/p>\n
The party said \u201cit is strange that wife of the President of Nigeria
\ncould travel to the USA and purportedly attended events there without
\ninternational television stations like CNN, Al jazeera, BBC, Sky News
\netc and local stations like Channels TV, NTA, AIT and others reporting
\nit. Or are they still \u2018editing\u2019 the video clips?\u201d<\/p>\n
While casting doubt at the purported trip, the PDP said: \u201cEven if Mrs
\nAisha Buhari actually travelled to the USA, does that erase the fact
\nthat in the judgment delivered by the United State District Court,
\nEastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division, USA, in criminal No
\n1: 07CR209, that indicted the USA Congressman, Williams Jefferson, it
\nwas mentioned that $170,000 was transferred from account in Nigeria in
\nthe name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group,
\nLLC, identifying William Jefferson as beneficiary?\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement read further; \u201cAs a party of responsible and discerning
\nminds, the PDP in Ekiti State would have elected to ignore the APC and
\nallow the party the freedom to advertise it idiocy. This is more so
\nthat the matter is now a subject of litigation and the no one has
\ndenied the existence of the judgment that indicted Williams Jefferson
\nand featured conspicuously at page 22, the name of Aisha Buhari as
\nhaving transferred $170,000 from account in Nigeria to William
\nJefferson.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost importantly, Nigerians have witnessed more heinous forgeries
\nfrom the APC, one of them being pictorial claim that President Buhari
\n(as APC presidential candidate then) had an interview with Kemi
\nFadojutimi on \u2018All Eyes on Africa\u2019 TV show in London, whereas the
\ninterview was held in Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, it is important to point out that from all evidences, the
\npictures circulated as arrival of President Buhari\u2019s wife at Dulles
\nInternational Airport, Washington DC could have been taken at the Doha
\nInternational Airport, Qatar. Even on the official website of George
\nMason University and US Institute of Peace, USA where the president\u2019s
\nwas said to have attended events, there is nothing to show that she
\nattended any event in the two institutions.
\n\u201cWe have seen pictures of Wife of the Senate President, Toyin Saraki
\nwith President Barrack Obama\u2019s wife, Michelle. We also saw pictures of
\nMrs Patience Jonathan with Michelle Obama when she visited the USA.
\nWhere are Aisha Buhari\u2019s pictures with the First Lady of USA and major
\ngovernment officials from the country? Or could she have arrived and
\ndeparted from the USA like a spirit?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is even more important that nothing official has been said about
