Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday said nobody should claim the
\nglory of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s victory in last year presidential
\nelection.<\/p>\n
Obasanjo also dismissed reports that he and few other persons brought
\nPresident Buhari to power, saying \u201cI never made such claims.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ex- President spoke during a visit to the Taraba State Governor,
\nDarius Dickson Ishaku, at the State House in Jalingo.<\/p>\n
He said the emergence of Buhari as President was an overwhelming decision
\nof Nigerians as demonstrated at the polls.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is inconsiderate of any single person or group to claim the glory.<\/p>\n
He said,\u201cI am astounded by media reports quoting me as saying that I and
\nfew other persons brought President Buhari to power to save Nigeria.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have never said that, because it is not true. Nigerians voted
\noverwhelmingly for the President and we are all witnesses to that fact. No
\nsingle person or group can claim that glory.\u201d<\/p>\n
Obasanjo also expressed confidence that Buhari will not disappoint Nigerians.<\/p>\n
The ex- President said he spent most of his life trying to better the lot
\nof humanity generally and Nigeria specifically, adding that he is
