The campaign tour of the governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic
\nParty, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu took a new dimension at his meeting with
\ndelegates of Iyekogba Communities made up of fifty-three villages in Oredo
\nLocal Government Area.<\/p>\n
At the meeting with the council of Enigie, elders and youth leaders of the
\ncommunities which took place at the palace of the chairman of the Enigie,
\nHRH Anthony Osayemwenre, the Enogie of Umegbe, the PDP candidate was
\npresented with a wish list in the form of a written document.<\/p>\n
In the list was the request for the construction of roads, schools and
\nappointment of indigenes into influential positions in government.<\/p>\n
According to His Royal Highness, Anthony Osayemwenre, the communities had
\nresolved that their support for any candidate would be dependent on his
\ngoing into a signed agreement with them.<\/p>\n
He lamented that in spite of their size and contribution to the
\ndetermination of the electoral process, Iyekogba Communities have always
\nlacked government impact by way of provision of necessary infrastructure.
\nHe stated that this time around, their demands have been spelt out in
\nblack and white and it would become a reference point when the candidate
\nis elected governor.<\/p>\n
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said that he was delighted at the initiative of
\nthe communities which he said he would have no difficulty signing because
\nall the requests were in consonance with his development drive and that of
\nthe PDP, which members at the national assembly had demonstrated a
\ncommitment to in Edo State.<\/p>\n
He used the occasion to introduce his written manifesto titled the SIMPLE
\nAgenda which articulates in practical terms how he intends to achieve his
\ndevelopment goals.<\/p>\n
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu drew the attention of the members of the
\ncommunities to a page in his SIMPLE Agenda document where he specifically
\nmentioned the construction of the roads in Iyekogba and which would link
\nthem to Ekewan Communities in Ovia North East Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
He said that beyond the facilities requested, he desires to bring
\nindustrialization to Iyekogba so as to enhance the economy of the place as
\nwell as create jobs for members of the communities. He also spoke about
\nhis plan for farm support and empowerment.<\/p>\n
Thereafter pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu proceeded to sign the agreement with
\nthe communities.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, at the campaign rally ground, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said that it was
\nregrettable that eight years after Governor Adams Oshiomhole promised to
\ndevelop Iyekogba, nothing was done.<\/p>\n
He said that instead, the governor concentrated sixty-five percent of his
\ndevelopment effort in his village, Iyamho.<\/p>\n
Ize-Iyamu called on the people to reject APC which is a continuation of
\nthe selfish agenda of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, saying that he and the
