The Presidency has said the recent killings of Christians in Zamfara State<\/p>\n
is not the business of President Mohammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n
Mr. Femi Adesina, Presidential Spokesman told a team of Broadcast
\nJournalists that though the killings are an act of criminality, Nigeria
\nruns a Federalism and so the President cannot be held responsible for such
\ncrimes.<\/p>\n
Asked what the President intends to do to curb the incessant killings of
\nChristians in the Northern part of Nigeria, Adesina said: \u201cThe Zamfara
\nGovernor has said those killed are not only Christians, they are Muslims
\ntoo.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cit happened in a state and we run a federalism. That
\nstate has the primary responsibility of bringing the perpetrators to
\nbook.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Presidency\u2019s new position is a departure from tweets from the official
\nTwitter handle of President Buhari which condemned the kilings, promising
\nto bring the perpetrators to justice.<\/p>\n
Recall that no fewer than eight persons were killed recently in
\nTalata-Mafara community in Zamfara State after violence erupted over
\nalleged blasphemy against Islam by a student of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic,
\nTalata-Mafara.<\/p>\n
The student was alleged to have made a blasphemous statement against
\nIslam and Prophet Muhammad and was consequently attacked by a mob.
\nThe boy was said to have been beaten to pulp by the mob. The man, whose
\nname was simply given as Tajudeen, took him in his car and rushed him to a
\nhospital.<\/p>\n
A witness said the mob, angered by Tajudeen\u2019s act, moved to his house, set
