Top contender for National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
\nRaymond Dokpesi has said Nigeria has become more polarized than ever
\nbefore under the watch of All Progressive Congress, APC led government.<\/p>\n
Speaking to journalists at a PDP rally in Marmara, in Nasarawa State at
\nthe weekend, Dokpesi said the country has become more divided under APC
\nthan it was during its civil war.<\/p>\n
Dokpesi said his party {PDP} was able to hold the country together and
\nthat it remains the only party that has the\u00a0 capacity to deal with the
\nissues of uniting\u00a0 and stabilizing the country.<\/p>\n
Dokpesi said PDP is the only political party that has the expertise to
\nresuscitate Nigeria’s ailing economy under APC.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must be very very hopeful, we must look to the future with a lot of
\nprayers.<\/p>\n
I believe that PDP is the only party that can provide the support; that
\ncan provide a rejuvenation of the Nigerian economy; that can really deal
\nwith the issues of unity and stability.<\/p>\n
This country is more divided than it was during the civil war\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
Dokpesi pointed out that Nigerians would have a better country when PDP
\nreturns to power in 2019.<\/p>\n
The PDP rally in Nassarawa was at the behest of the Chairman of the Board
\nof Trustees, Walid Jubril.<\/p>\n
Jubril used the occssion to call for unity within the party.<\/p>\n
He said the party needs to come to terms with its current situation and
\nwork towards achieving peace and reposition itself for future election
\nvictories.<\/p>\n
To achieve this\u00a0 Jubril believes\u00a0 the party must do away with the culture
\nof impunity and imposition.<\/p>\n
He said members must begin to subject themselves to the will of the party.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur party needs to run away completely from impunity. We have to be able
\nto accept the reality of the situation that we are in today and forget
\nabout all our differences and ensure that this party remains unbeatable
\nparty\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
He added that PDP has all the ingredients to rule Nigeria again.<\/p>\n
Jubril said reconciliation talks are on with former National Chairman, Ali
\nModu Sheriff; optimistic that the party would soon resolve the crisis
\nwithin.<\/p>\n
Dokpesi\u2019s candidacy for the coveted seat of National Chairman of PDP is
\nreinforced in Nassarawa as he garners more endorsements from party leaders
