Governor David Umahi announced this during the maiden Ishiagu Cultural Day
\ncelebration at Ishagu, Ivo Gocal Government Area.<\/p>\n

The governor, who was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Ebube\u00a0 Agu
\nof Ishiagu, said, ” We shall in the coming weeks in September launch our
\nvigilantee group. We will conclude plans with commissioner of police so
\nthat we will launch Ebonyi vigilantee starting with Ishiagu and Akaeze
\ncommunities. So, in the month of September,you will see a robust
\nassistance to the very wonderful work the security agencies are doing in
\nIshiagu and Akaeze.
\n“We will tackle\u00a0 crimes and I assure you that under my administration, you
\nwill have peace.”<\/p>\n

Umahi also announced that\u00a0 a construction company, Setraco had been
\nreinvited\u00a0 to complete a section of a\u00a0 road earlier awarded to it in
\nIshiagu. He added that another road \u00a0 from Nzerem- Okwe\u00a0 to\u00a0 MCC junction
\nwould also be constructed soon.<\/p>\n

The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Emma Anya,
\nalso\u00a0 ordered a comprehensive evaluation of the light needs of Ishiagu and
\nAkaeze so that they could\u00a0\u00a0 be included in the first phase of state’s
\nrural electrification programme.,
\n“I have ordered to be completed within the month of September, a
\ncomprehensive 10- kilometre street light in the land of Ishiahu and
\nanother 10- kilometre\u00a0 in Akaeze. So this project will be jointly funded
\nby the state government and the local government. The project duration
\nshall be 30 days.”
\nHe also assured the people \u00a0 that work would soon start on the\u00a0 Ishiagu
\nwater project,already re-awarded at the cost of N2.1 billion\u00a0 .<\/p>\n

Umahi, who thanked the people of Ishiagu for the honour done him, paid
\nglowing tribute to their\u00a0 son, Anyim Pius Anyim,the immediate past
\nSecretary to the Government of the Federation,for being a reliable ally in
\nthe struggle for political and social justice in Ebonyi\u00a0 State.
\nAnyim had in his \u00a0 opening remarks, lauded Governor Umahi for his quality
\nleadetship and pledged\u00a0 the support of\u00a0 his kinsmen and women\u00a0 to his
\nadministration<\/p>\n

The chairman of the ocassion,Dr.Chris Okereke,thanked Umahi for restoring
\npeace to \u00a0 Ishiagu .\u00a0 The President of Ishiagu Community Development
\nUnion,Chief Stanley\u00a0 Chukwu thanked\u00a0 the\u00a0 governor\u00a0 for his magnanimity to
\nthe people of Ishiagu,especially in the appointment of sons and daughters
\nto the position of authority in the state<\/p>\n
