\nEkiti State Government will within\u200e the next few days refunded money
\nover-deducted from the salaries of workers for car, housing and
\ncomputer loans.<\/p>\n

This followed the submission of the report by a committee set up by
\nthe State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, that looked into the matter.<\/p>\n

Speaking on an interview programme on radio and television in
\nAdo-Ekiti, Governor Fayose also promised that the legacy projects
\nembarked upon by his administration would be completed as scheduled.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr
\nIdowu Adelusi, the governor said teachers, whose salaries were
\nover-deducted fell into those under the Teaching Service Commission
\nand the State Universal Basic Education Board.<\/p>\n

While giving the assurance that the money would be refunded shortly,
\nthe governor said steps had been taken to prevent a recurrence of such
\nth\u200eing in the future.<\/p>\n

On t\u200ehe legacy projects such as the flyover, the new Ojaba Market and
\nthe extension of the dualisation of the Ado-Ikere Road, Governor
\nFayose gave the assurance that they would be completed on time.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the projects could not be in anyway rushed into
\ncompletion for cheap political reasons as being demanded by some
\nindividuals and groups due to their nature.<\/p>\n

While appealing for understanding and cooperation of the people over
\ninconveniences encountered as a result of the ongoing works,he said he
\nwas not unaware of the pains and discomfort being faced by residents
\nin the process of executing the projects through occasional road
\ndiversions.<\/p>\n

He clarified that contrary to insinuations in some quarters, the
\nprojects being undertaken were not misplaced, saying certain
\nfacilities that should ordinarily make a state capital or local
\ngovernment headquarter look its worth were lacking in Ekiti State.<\/p>\n

Fayose explained that he deliberately embarked on such projects in
\norder to creating long lasting legacies that would outlive him after
\nhis tenure of office.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly a foolish leader or politician will be working for the purpose
\nof winning election alone but the wise one will do those things that
\nwill take care of the future.
\n\u200e
\n“The late Chief Obafemi Awolowo is still being remembered for what he
\ndid. The\u200e dualisation of roads in Efon, Ikole and other places is
\nbeing done despite the paucity of funds. We need a leader who has the
\nvision and won’t be bogged down by paucity of funds or other
\nhindrances.\u200e I have taken it to personally impact on people’s lives
\npositively.\u200e We need to put the people first\u200e,” he said.<\/p>\n

The governor enjoined the state workers, in their capacity as the
\nengine room of government, to rally round his administration to
\ndeliver on its promises.<\/p>\n

He threatened to soon embark on unscheduled visits to public offices
\nto ensure that issues relating to laziness and complacency among civil
\nservants became a thing of the past.<\/p>\n

The governor warned that any worker caught abdicating his
\nresponsibility in the process would be dealt with according to
\nnecessary industrial law.<\/p>\n

He used the occasion to announce that the 20th anniversary of the
\nstate creation coming up on October 1,2016 would be low-keyed due to
