The Ekiti Progressives Youths (EPY) has described the alleged donation
\nof over N700 million by the Minister of Solid Minerals and former
\ngovernor of the State, Dr Kayode Fayemi to support the emergence of Mr
\nRotimi Akeredolu (SAN) as the governorship candidate of the All
\nProgressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State as another clear display of
\ninsensitivity to the plight of the people of Ekiti State.<\/p>\n
Rising from its quarterly meeting in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the EPY
\nsaid in a communique signed by its President and Secretary, Mr Samuel
\nAdekunle and Comrade Roland Adewale respectively that it was painful
\nthat Fayemi should rather return the billions he looted from the Ekiti
\nState treasury instead of using the fund to fight political battle.<\/p>\n
The communique read: \u201cOur attention has been drawn the reported
\ndonation of over N700 million by Dr Kayode Fayemi to ensure the
\nvictory of Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) in the last Saturday governorship
\nprimary election of the APC in Ondo State.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was the same way Fayemi donated N1.5 billion to President
\nMohammadu Buhari\u2019s campaign, on which basis he was appointed minister.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, it was the same way Fayemi\u2019s wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, in July
\nthis year, gave two trailer loads of food items meant for Ekiti APC
\nsupporters to Mr Akeredolu to boast his governorship bid.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe condemn this frequent use of fund looted from our State treasury
\nto fund elections while Ekiti State is in debt courtesy of unwarranted
\nloans obtained by Fayemi\u2019s government.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost importantly, member of APC in Ekiti State are suffering, with
\nmany of them unable to feed and Fayemi is there lavishing billions on
\nelections. This is unfair. It is clear demonstration of insensitivity
