The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has counselled<\/p>\n
self-professed human rights activist and lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) to
\nface his governorship ambition and stop public demonstration of his
\nhatred for Governor Ayodele Fayose.<\/p>\n
The party said no amount of mudslinging by Falana and his ilk can
\ndiminish the status and political relevance of Governor Fayose in
\nEkiti State in particular and Nigeria in general.<\/p>\n
Reacting to comment made by Falana at the maiden edition of
\nEkitipanupo colloquium in Lagos on Thursday that Governor Fayose was
\nlooting funds meant for the development of Ekiti State, the PDP said
\nin a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Jackson Adebayo,
\nthat Falana was already sounding like a broken record on his obsession
\nwith anything anti-Fayose.<\/p>\n
The PDP said; \u201cEven though this comment, coming from Falana ought to
\nhave been ignored like we have always done because his hypocrisy has
\nbecome so legendary that he should no longer be taken seriously by
\nsane minds, it is shameful that Falana, a Senior Associate Nigeria
\n(SAN) could call someone who has not been convicted by any court of
\nlaw a looter.\u201d<\/p>\n
The party, which accused Falana of using his link with the Economic
\nand Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to wage war against Ekiti
\npeople, said; \u201cFalana and his likes should know that 2016 is different
\nfrom 2006. They cannot draw back the wheel of progress of Ekiti State
\nbeing anchored by Governor Fayose as they did in 2006.\u201d<\/p>\n
While saying Falana should rather face his governorship ambition and
\nstop advertising his jejune hatred for Fayose, the PDP said; \u201cFayose
\ndefeated Falana in 2003 and also defeated the combination of Falana
\nand three former governors of Ekiti State in 2014. He (Falana) should
\nrather face his 2018 governorship ambition and stop thinking that
\nlying against Fayose everywhere he goes can guarantee him the
\ngovernorship of Ekiti in 2018.<\/p>\n
\u201cInstead of hiding under human rights activism to perpetrate evil
\nagainst Ekiti and its people as he has always done, Falana should be
\nbold enough to declare his governorship ambition, which is not hidden
