A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Abia State, Hon.
\nOffor Okorie, has accused the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr.
\nOkechukwu Enelamah of abandoning the party in the state since he assumed
\noffice.<\/p>\n
Offor, Assistant Publicity Secretary of the party in the state alleged
\nthat Enelamah who hails from Umuahia North local government area, had only
\nmet with APC faithful once in Umuahia, adding that the Minister has failed
\nto liaise with the state executive committee to move Abia APC forward.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cThe APC in Abia is like an orphan; we are not getting
\nthe required support and encouragement from the Minister of Trade and
\nInvestment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah who is from the state. As an opposition
\nparty in Abia state, we have a lot of challenges; he needs to lead the way
\nto encourage and give direction to party faithful and leaders. The
\nMinister must not see himself as an island. Yes, we know he was not
\nnominated to his position by the state chapter, but as a man working for
\nthe APC administration at the federal level, he has a sacred duty to
\nstrengthen the APC in Abia.<\/p>\n
\u201cDr. Enelamah needs to come home, liaise with the APC leadership and know
\nthe problems of the party. It is unfair that we don\u2019t feel the impact of
\nproducing a senior minister at the federal level. We know he is a
\ntechnocrat, but I challenge the Minister to see himself as a party man and
\nhelp build APC in Abia because without the party, he could not have been
\nmade minister.\u201d<\/p>\n
Offor insisted that APC has been re-positioned to win the governorship
\nposition in 2019, and commended the state chairman of the party, Donatus
\nNwankpa , Nyerere Anyim, Acho Obioma , Stanley Ohajuruka, Ikechi Emenike
\nand other leaders in the state, for their efforts in sustaining the party
