The candidate of the PDP in the September 28 Edo State Governorship<\/p>\n
Election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has said that he had in the past few<\/p>\n
days decided to seek the face of God to know the steps to take, after<\/p>\n
INEC declared Godwin Obaseki winner of the controversial election which<\/p>\n
many observers have condemned as non transparent and non credible. He<\/p>\n
said that he heard the call to pursue the matter and recover the mandate<\/p>\n
which the people had clearly given to him and the PDP.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Speaking to a mammoth crowd of PDP supporters and members of the Civil<\/p>\n
Society at his campaign office in Benin City, prior to a protest march<\/p>\n
that went through the city centre, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu said that he<\/p>\n
had heard the call of Edo people to seek redress. He said he recognizes<\/p>\n
that the struggle for the mandate is beyond his discretion because it<\/p>\n
belongs to Edo people.<\/p>\n

The PDP candidate said that Edo people should be rest assured that the<\/p>\n
robbery will not stand because there is overwhelming evidence of the<\/p>\n
fraud which was committed by INEC in connivance with the APC.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He enjoined the people to remain patient through an expected long drawn<\/p>\n
legal battle that will end in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

Ize-Iyamu upbraided Governor Adams Oshiomhole who he said was desperate<\/p>\n
to impose Mr. Godwin Oshiomhole so as to cover up the peoples money<\/p>\n
which Oshiomhole looted. He said that Oshiomhole’s days as a governor<\/p>\n
are numbered and that he will soon become a former governor at which<\/p>\n
time he will no longer have immunity from prosecution for his financial<\/p>\n
crimes against Edo people. He said that Godwin Obaseki’s tenure will be<\/p>\n
cut short and Oshiomhole will not escape probe.<\/p>\n

Pastor Ize-Iyamu condemned the failure of the police to arrest APC’s<\/p>\n
State Youth Leader and known thug, Osakpamwan Eriyo, who in broad<\/p>\n
daylight the police allowed to disrupt the collation of result in Oredo<\/p>\n
Ward two because the APC lost his ward. He said the police should effect<\/p>\n
his arrest in a matter of days or the people will arrest him.<\/p>\n

Ize-Iyamu, before the march proceeded told the crowd to observe a<\/p>\n
peaceful protest procession. The crowd of protesters numbering thousands<\/p>\n
went round some parts of the state capital. Among the protesters were<\/p>\n
leaders of the PDP, including the state chairman, Chief Dan Orbih.<\/p>\n
