{"id":53785,"date":"2016-10-10T17:26:52","date_gmt":"2016-10-10T16:26:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=53785"},"modified":"2016-10-10T17:26:52","modified_gmt":"2016-10-10T16:26:52","slug":"uche-ogah-arrested-forgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/uche-ogah-arrested-forgery\/","title":{"rendered":"Uche Ogah Arrested For Forgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1343919156\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Monday<\/span><\/span> morning,<br \/>\narrested the President of Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Mr. Uche<br \/>\nOgah after he stepped out of the courtroom where a forgery charge filed<br \/>\nagainst him by the Police were withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>Ogah was arrested around the Lagos State Magistrates\u2019 Court in Tinubu,<br \/>\nLagos Island. Recall that Ogah was declared winner of the last<br \/>\ngovernorship election in Abia State by Justice Okon Abang of a Federal<br \/>\nHigh Court in Abuja on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1343919157\"><span class=\"aQJ\">June 27<\/span><\/span> was.<\/p>\n<p>He was then arraigned on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1343919158\"><span class=\"aQJ\">June 16<\/span><\/span> by the Police for alleged forgery.<\/p>\n<p>The Police prosecutor, Henry Obiazi, told the presiding magistrate, Mrs.<br \/>\nKikelomo Ayeye, when the case was called upon that he had the instruction<br \/>\nof the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to withdraw the charges<br \/>\nagainst Ogah, his company, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited and an<br \/>\nex-employee of United Bank for Africa, Deji Somoye.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am instructed by the IGP to withdraw this case, as the issue is pending<br \/>\nwith the SFU,\u201d Obiazi said. The charges were consequently struck out by<br \/>\nthe court.\u201d However, as soon as Ogah stepped out of the court room, he was<br \/>\narrested by the waiting EFCC operatives who drove him away in their van.<\/p>\n<p>An EFCC source said the commission had received a petition against Ogah<br \/>\nhence, his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>He said Ogah was being interrogated. In the suit filed against them, Ogah<br \/>\nand his co-defendants\u00a0 were accused of conspiring with some persons still<br \/>\nat large to forge a Memorandum of Understanding between Masters Energy Oil<br \/>\nand Gas Limited and Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited sometime in March 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Ogah and some other persons still at large were alleged to have forged the<br \/>\nsignature of one Mrs. Bridget Adeosun.<\/p>\n<p>The charges read, \u201cThat you, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Uche<br \/>\nOgah, and others at large sometime in March 2011 at Ikeja, in the Lagos<br \/>\nMagisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to wit: forgery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat you, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Uche Ogah, and others at<br \/>\nlarge, on the same date, time, place and in the aforementioned magisterial<br \/>\ndistrict, did forge the signature of one Mrs. Bridget Adeosun and a<br \/>\ndocument known as MoU between Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited and Masters<br \/>\nEnergy Oil and Gas Limited, with an intent that it may be in any way used<br \/>\nor acted upon as genuine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat you, Deji Somoye, United Bank for Africa and others still at large,<br \/>\nsometime in August 2011, at UBA regional office, Palmgrove, in the Lagos<br \/>\nMagisterial District, did knowing that Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited<br \/>\ndesigned to commit an offence, failed to use all reasonable means to<br \/>\nprevent the commission or the completion of the crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But they pleaded not guilty; after which they were admitted to bail in the<br \/>\nsum of N200,000 each, with one surety each in like sum.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Monday morning, arrested the President of Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited, Mr. Uche Ogah after he stepped out of the courtroom where&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":53786,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-53785","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
