Tension is brewing in the Abia State Police Command following the
\nredeployment of Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) by the new Commissioner
\nof Police, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade, and subsequent reservation of \u2018juicy\u2019
\nDivisions to his South West kinsmen.<\/p>\n
Some of the Police Divisions in Aba described by Policemen as \u2018juicy\u2019
\ninclude Ndiegoro, Abayi, Central Police Station, Osisioma, Ariaria, Isiala
\nNgwa North and Omoba.<\/p>\n
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that Oyebade who was transferred to the
\nstate from Oyo state Command, had moved at least 9 DPOs and replaced them
\nwith his Yoruba kinsmen, causing great disaffection among the rank of
\nsenior Police officers in the area.<\/p>\n
Most notable is the officer in charge of Patrol and Guard (P&G) in Aba
\nArea Command, one Musa Muhammed who has been a link between the Hausa
\ncommunity in Aba and the Police. Muhammed has been replaced by Olagide
\nOwolabi as the new officer, P&G in the Aba Area Command.<\/p>\n
The affected DPOs include Francis Ndabula (Ariaria Division) replaced by
\nAyola Oluwole; Mr. Nwobu who was barely a month in office as DPO,\u00a0 Central
\nPolice Station, Aba, now replaced by CSP Isiaka Adeona and DPO, Ndiegoro
\nDivision, Woke Kingsley replaced by CSP Olusegun Omosanyin. However,
\nOmosanyin has been promoted to the ACP rank and transferred out of the
\nstate.<\/p>\n
Other Divisions where the CP redeployed the sitting DPO to make way for
\nhis kinsman include Isiala Ngwa North with Mr. Bankole Eluyera out for one
\nUgoeze, among others.<\/p>\n
SP Musa Saleh of DPO of Eastern Ngwa Division who was transferred to the
\nstate Police headquarters, Umuahia to make way for an officer from the
\nSouth West, has been restored to the Division.<\/p>\n
Efforts made to get the reaction of CP Oyebade proved abortive as he
