The suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin,
\nhas splashed N100million cash startup package to his constituents as part
\nof activities to commemorate 100 days of his anti-corruption crusade
\nagainst budget fraud.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jibrin had accused the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, Deputy
\nSpeaker Yusuf Lasun, Chief Whip Alhassan Doguwa, Minority Leader Leo Ogor
\nand some members of the House of monumental corruption in 2016 budget.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker also distributed motorcycles, generators, sewing machines,
\ngrinding machines and other empowerment perks worth N100million and
\nscholarship grant for 1,000 students.<\/p>\n

Presenting the empowerment packages to 5,000 beneficiaries, Jibrin said the
\ngesture was aimed at empowering his constituents towards cushioning the
\neffect of hardship in the country.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jibrin said his commitment to the welfare of his people was not a
\nrecent phenomenon, saying he has been empowering his people long before he
\nventured into politics.<\/p>\n

“I have done many empowerment program before I ventured into politics, I
\ncontinued when I was elected and I sustain the tempo despite my suspension.<\/p>\n

“This is a clear testimony that we hold our people dear to our heart
\nirrespective of politics,” he said.<\/p>\n

Reiterating his commitment to anti-corruption activism, Mr. Jibrin said he
\nwould not relent in the struggle until sanity is restored in the budget
\nprocess in the country.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker said there was no going back on the anti-corruption struggle
\nhe embarked upon in the last 100 days until sanity is restored in budget
\nprocess.<\/p>\n

Some of the constituents who spoke on the occasion called on President
\nBuhari, Governor Ganduje, Emir of Kano, Senator Kwankwaso and well-meaning
\nNigerians to call on the House to rescind its suspension as the seat
\nbelongs to Kiru\/Bebeji constituency not Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin.<\/p>\n

According to him, they elected Mr. Jibrin to the House, and so his
\nsuspension from legislative duties should be done by the constituents.<\/p>\n

They commended the President for his anti corruption war and security
\nefforts, Governor Ganduje for his development projects in the state, and
\nSenator Kwankwaso for ensuring the inclusion of Kano into North East
\nDevelopment Commission.<\/p>\n
