The President-elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump, says he
\nwill uphold a united America and reclaim the nation\u2019s destiny when he
\ntakes over.<\/p>\n
After an election campaign that has been described as divisive and
\nintensely contested; Donald Trump will become the 45th US president
\nfollowing a stunning victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton..<\/p>\n
In his victory speech, Mr Trump hailed his opponent saying; \u201cshe fought
\nvery hard. She has worked very long and hard over a long period of time.
\nWe have a sense of gratitude for her service\u201d.<\/p>\n
At the Trump campaign centre in New York, the President-elect pledged to
\nbe a President of all American people.<\/p>\n

He says he will rebuild the nation\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow it\u2019s time for America to bind the wounds of division. We have to get
\ntogether. To all Republicans, Democrats and independence across this
\nnation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.<\/p>\n
\u201cI pledge to every citizens of our land that I will be president to all
\nAmericans and this is so important to me.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorking together, we will begin the process of rebuilding the nation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will rebuild our infrastructure which will become by the way second to
\nnone and we will put many of our people to work as we rebuild it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will embark upon a project of national growth and I will harness the
\ncreative talent of our people and we will call upon the best and brightest
\nto leverage on their tremendous talent for the benefit of all.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a great economic plan. We will double our growth and have the
\nstrongest economy anywhere in the world. At the same time we will get
\nalong with all other nations willing to get along with us.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing we want for our future is beyond our reach. America will no
\nlonger settle for anything less than the best.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must reclaim our country\u2019s destiny and dream big and bold and daring.
\nWe have to do that and we are going to dream of beautiful and successful
\nthings for our country,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
Mr Trump further highlighted his commitment to his nation, saying; \u201cwhile
\nwe will always put America\u2019s interest first, we will deal fairly with
\neveryone.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will seek common ground, not hostility\u2026 partnership not conflict\u201d.<\/p>\n
He acknowledged that it was a tough race to the White House and described
\npolitics as a nasty and tough affair.<\/p>\n
The President-elect also said he would repeal most policies of the ruling
\ndemocratic party.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been what they call a historic event and to be really historic, we
\nhave to do a great job.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile the campaign is over, our work or this movement has just begun. We
\nwill get to work immediately for all Americans. We are going to be doing a
\njob that hopefully you will be so proud of your President.<\/p>\n
