The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC docked<\/p>\n
the immediate past Director-General of the National Broadcasting Com-
\nmission, Mr Emeka Mba and three others namely Patrick Are, Basil Udotai
\nand Babatunji Amu over an alleged N15 billion fraud.<\/p>\n
The trial could not however go on based on the difficulties experienced by
\nthe counsel to the Economic\u00a0 and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr Salisu
\nMajidadi in serving the amended charge sheet on the defendants.<\/p>\n
The trial judge, Justice Gabriel Kolawole gave order that the defendants
\nshould visit EFCC so as to be properly served.<\/p>\n
Emeka Mba, Patrick Are, Basil Udotai and Babatunji Amu who are 1st to
\n4thh defendants respectively are being prosecuted on a 15-count amended
\ncharge bordering on money laundering and diversion of public funds.<\/p>\n
The defendants\u2019 lawyers led by Mr Sunday Ameh (SAN) submitted that the
\nissue of service or non-service of the amended charge is uncalled for
\nbecause each of the defendants, for instance, the 1st and 4th defendant
\nhad been served, while the 2nd and 3rd defendants had obtained copies of
\nthe amended charge from the third defendant\u2019s counsel.<\/p>\n
