Former minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has denied media report
\nthat she has intentions to contest the 2019 presi\u00addential election.<\/p>\n
In a statement signed by her media aide, Paul Nwabuikwu and sent to
\nPointblanknews.com, he said\u00a0 “We urge the Nigerian media and public to
\nignore this mischievous exercise and its sponsors.”<\/p>\n
The Statement reads:<\/p>\n
OKONJO-IWEALA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FAKE 2019 CAMPAIGN POSTER AND
\nPOLITICAL SPECULATION<\/p>\n
Our attention has been drawn to speculative media stories linking former
\nMinister of Finance, Dr Okonjo-Iweala with the next presidential election
\nscheduled to hold in 2019.<\/p>\n
In an effort to invest their efforts with phony credibility, those behind
\nthe project have even gone to the extent of designing a fake campaign
\nposter embossed with her image.<\/p>\n
This is to clarify that Dr Okonjo-Iweala who is busy with important
\ninternational duties has absolutely nothing to do with these speculations
\nand activities.<\/p>\n
She has neither discussed nor endorsed them with anybody.<\/p>\n
We urge the Nigerian media and public to ignore this mischievous exercise
\nand its sponsors.<\/p>\n
