The Chief of Army staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Burutail, has assured the<\/p>\n
Governor of Abia State that the\u00a0 Nigeria military will continue to
\npatronise made in Aba materials, including uniforms and boots.<\/p>\n
General Buratai gave the assurance when he led a delegation of High ranking
\nmilitary officers on a courtesy visit to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu at the
\nGovernment house, Umuahia.<\/p>\n
According to him, the military has directed their suppliers to emphasize on
\nmade in Nigeria, stressing that the patronage was motivated by the
\nGovernor’s letter he received months ago.<\/p>\n
He thanked the Governor for the excellent relationship existing between the
\nArmy and the good people of Abia State.<\/p>\n
The army boss said that he is in Abia to assess the progress of the
\n“operation python dance” which the Military launched to mark her end of the
\nyear training activities.<\/p>\n
He also assured his host and the people of Abia State that “Operation
\nPython Dance” is a peaceful engagement that builds synergy between the army
\nand other security agencies.<\/p>\n
The army chief emphasized that the army is not out to intimidate or harass
\nanybody, stressing that Nigerian army and other security services belong to
\nthe Nigerian people, and promised that the army will\u00a0 not intimidate law
\nabiding citizen, adding that\u00a0 the security of law abiding Nigerians is the
\nprimary concern of the army.<\/p>\n
General Burutai who is visiting the state for the first time since his
\nappointment stated that the Nigerian Army has succeeded in maintaining
\npeace in the country as well as defending Nigerian territories against
\nexternal aggression.<\/p>\n
Responding, Governor Ikpeazu thanked the military for their support to his
\nadministration’s push to boost patronage of made in Aba products.\u00a0 He
\nobserved that the Leadership of the Army under Lt General Buratai, has
\nperformed well in internal security operations, especially in the volatile
\nnorth east region of the country.<\/p>\n
Governor Ikpeazu also told his guest that he believes his visit to Abia
\nwill further boost the morale of soldiers and other residents of Abia state.
\nGovernor Ikpeazu further\u00a0 cautioned Nigerians to respect one another
\nregardless of the position they find themselves.<\/p>\n
The high point of the courtesy visit was the donation of 2 new Hilux
\nvehicles to the Military Chief by the Governor, which was eventually handed
\nover to Brig. Gen. Lawrence Fejokwu of the 14 brigade barrack at Ohafia,
\nAbia State by the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen. Buratai.\u00a0 Brigadier General
