\nPredatorsseeking to reap from an impending confusion which they themselves
\nwill create.Anambra and her citizens have experienced the worst kind of
\nPolitical injusticesince the last couple of years, the type of which no
\nstate in Nigeria shouldever pray for. Law abiding tax payers have become
\nthe tragedy of this marriageof confusion, institutionalized manipulation
\nand irresponsible leadership. Thislack of enlightened leadership made
\nworse by a dysfunctional political andeconomic status quo gave rise to
\ndesperate abandon, sycophancy, opportunism,personal aggrandizements and
\nreckless policy direction, all at the detriment ofthe massesThe greatest
\nobstacle to progress in Anambra state is irresponsiblePolitics \u2013 fueled by
\ndemagogues who know the price ofeverything and the value of nothing.
\nPolitics is the hunting ground of demagogueswho thrive only in their
\ncomfort zones of self-inflated bubbles, creatingconfusions using the
\ninstrumentalities of aggressive propaganda marketing and post-truthhybrid
\nmanipulation techniques. They have re-appeared again, calling meetings,
\nmakingnocturnal consultations and erecting billboards for Governorship and
\nhopingthat gullible electorates will make the same mistakes of the past
\nBut 2017 is the year of theballot. It will be a make or mar period in the
\nevolution of democracy inAnambra State. Leadership is all about service
\nbut alas this service has beenterribly abused by those who profess to
\nuphold it. Should we allow predators toonce again rape democracy? Should
\nwe continue to sacrifice competence on the altarof mediocrity? There comes
\na time when silence isbetrayal. Should we continue to dwell in
\nSilence?This is a time to make hardcalls. As we run to pitch tents, we
\nshould rather ask ourselves \u201cis this the kind of leadership that wouldbe
\nbest for me, my family and my children in the years ahead. We must face up
\nto this. \u00a0\u00a0\u201cOur lives are not our own. We are bound to others, pastand
\npresent, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our
\nfuture.\u201d\u2026\u2026Cloud Atlas\u00a0For progress to bepossible in 2017, we must first
\nhave to change the way we think and theway we do things in Anambra State.
\nWe must resist all predatory demagogues. Wemust ask the right questions
\nand ponder on issues instead of dwelling on bagsof salt and rice which
\nwill soon be flying all over the places \u2013 gifts from demagogues.What are
\nthe ideologies, principles, manifestoes and mission statements ofthose
\nwhom we wish to make Governorship? Can they defend their own
\nmanifestoes,are their proffered solutions to existing problems feasible?
\nOr should thosehypothesis create more problems to prevailing complex
\nproblems.\u00a0\u201cNothing is easier than blaming others for our troubles,
\nandabsolving ourselves of responsibility for our choices and our actions.
\nAnybodycan do that. Responsibility and leadership in the 21st century
\ndemand more.\u201d BarackObama\u00a0It\u2019s time to stand up for choiceswe make and
\nthat decision starts from today. Can you take a stand againstirresponsible
\nleadership? Can you become that change that you seek in the state?
