Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has flagged off a flyover project at Osisioma
\nNgwa junction on the Enugu- Port Harcourt expressway in Aba.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, the governor stated that the
\nOsisioma Ngwa interchange was borne out of the need to ease traffic at the
\njunction to make life easy for the people, stressing that his
\nadministration is determined to rebuild road infrastructure to boost trade
\nand commerce and growth of SMEs in the state.<\/p>\n
Ikpeazu pledged that similar projects would be replicated in the three
\nsenatorial zones of the state, added that the Osisioma Ngwa flyover
\nproject is being funded by a bank guarantee and would not be stalled by
\nfunding.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cWe are running on the pillars which revolve around
\ntrade and commerce and development of small and medium scale Enterprises,
\nSMEs. We have to leverage on what we have to help our shoe and garment
\nmakers. We have decided to focus on road infrastructure.<\/p>\n
“We want to shorten the time it takes from Enugu or Umuahia to access Port
\nHarcourt, Aba and the hinterlands. We want to ensure that our people who
\nare traders can take their products from Osisioma Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa,
\nObingwa and get into Aba to market them. Whatever we are doing at Aba to
\nboost trade and commerce will not be complete without the influx of buyers
\nfrom Akwa Ibom and Rivers States; this is the main reason for the flyover
\nproject.\u201d<\/p>\n
He disclosed that another flyover projects would be built at Asa Nnentu to
\nease traffic in the area and urged Abia people to continue to support his
\nadministration to deliver more dividends of democracy.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, who said
\nthe flyover project, would link the Osisioma Ngwa industrial layout to the
\ncity and open up access road to the Port Harcourt International airport in
\nRivers state, assured that the contractors would deliver quality jobs.<\/p>\n
The Commissioner warned roadside traders in the area to relocate to the
\nEkeakpara market, as government would deal with anyone stalling the
