Junaid.Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has responded to attacks
\nfrom the presidency calling them bunch of liars who have worsened
\nNigeria’s economic situation.<\/p>\n
Junaid said he has known President Mohammadu Buhari for years and that his
\naides should stop lying to Nigerians about the health of the President.<\/p>\n
He said in the history of Nigeria, late General Sanni Abacha is the
\nhealthiest man to rule Nigeria.
\nHis words, \u201cI believe Sheu is under pressure which is why he attacked me.
\nHowever, I believe strongly they need to stop lying to Nigerians about Mr
\nPresidents health. Can they actually tell Nigerians what this medical
\nleave or routine check-up is? They don\u2019t seems to be telling us the
\ntruth\u201d. Mohammed who maintained he has been President Buhari\u2019s friend
\nsince when he was a secnd lieutenant in the Army said he cannot shy away
\nfrom telling the President the truth anytime he misfires.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cIf I am to comment on issues that concern Nigerians, I won\u2019t shy
\naway from telling President Buhari the home truth anywhere he is making
\nmistakes. I criticized General Abacha as Head of State and told him some
\ntruths in private and sometimes face to face. I believe if people can
\nchallenge their friends in power, it shows they are not intimidated by the
\npowerful\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf Aisha Buhari can say what she said about her husband, I think the
\nPresident needs to check himself and retrace his steps on some issues that
\nconcerns the country. I think the question the President needs to ask
\nhimself is that after one he has taken over the reigns of power, what has
\nchanged? Is Nigeria better off than when he took over on May 29, 2015? The
\ntruth is that Nigeria is worse off today than when Buhari took over the
\nreigns of power.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery Nigerian today is worse off and nothing seems to be working under
\nthis government. Some who are rich in 2015 cannot say same today due to
\nthe economic woes that Nigeria is presently experiencing and we cannot
\ncontinue to close our eyes off it\u201d.<\/p>\n
He further explained, \u201cThis administration has failed in tamming the
\neconomic woes that seems to have turned everyone poor in present day
\nNigeria. Even though the administration made some giant strides in the
\nfight against Boko Haram, the country is still not safe as people still
\nlive in fears even in Kano today. And there is also political crises in
\nthe party where President won his own election. So the President seems to
\nbe at war with everyone including the National Assembly members\u201d.<\/p>\n
He however maintained, \u201cI believe President Buhari should engage in
\nturning around the fortunes of Nigeria economically, politically and
\nsecurity wise. By now, his administration should have stopped blaming the
\nJonathan government for their woes. I believe that in Politics, you take
