{"id":55729,"date":"2017-01-25T19:07:21","date_gmt":"2017-01-25T18:07:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=55729"},"modified":"2017-01-25T19:07:21","modified_gmt":"2017-01-25T18:07:21","slug":"corruption-suswam-accused-diverting-n10billion-sure-p-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/corruption-suswam-accused-diverting-n10billion-sure-p-funds\/","title":{"rendered":"CORRUPTION: Suswam Accused of Diverting N10billion Sure-P Funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has accused former Benue State Governor, Gabriel<br \/>\nSuswam and two others of diverting about N10billion meant for the SURE-P<br \/>\nprogramme initiated by ex- President Goodluck Jonathan\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>The accusation is contained in two fresh charges filed against Suswam,<br \/>\nOmadachi Oklobia and Mrs. Janet Aluga at the Federal High Court, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Oklobia was the Finance Commissioner and Aluga the Accountant at the Benue<br \/>\nState Government House during Suswam\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n<p>In the first of the five charges listed in a charge sheet marked:<br \/>\nFHC\/ABJ\/CR\/255\/2015, they were accused of unlawfully transferring the fund<br \/>\nfrom the Benue State SURE-P account numbers: 1013470079 and 0116099195<br \/>\ndomiciled in Zenith and Guaranty Trust banks.<\/p>\n<p>In the second charge of four counts, marked: FHC\/ABJ\/CR\/256\/2016, they<br \/>\nwere accused of unlawfully taking possession of the said fund.<\/p>\n<p>When the charges were mention on Wednesday before Justice Gabriel<br \/>\nKolawole, the defendants were absent in court.<\/p>\n<p>Lead prosecution lawyer, David Igbodo, told the court that the Inspector-<br \/>\nGeneral of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, who authorised the filing of the<br \/>\ncharges, has resolved to work with the Attorney General of the Federation<br \/>\n(AGF) in the prosecution of the case.<\/p>\n<p>Igbodo said the IGP has directed that the case file be forwarded to the<br \/>\nAGF for his contributions.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has accused former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam and two others of diverting about N10billion meant for the SURE-P programme initiated by ex- President Goodluck Jonathan\u2019s administration.&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":42803,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-55729","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-exclusive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
