A whooping sum of $9.2million and \u00a372,000 cash was rcovered from the
\nKaduna home of Mr. Andrew Yakubu, the former Group Managing Director of
\nthe Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.<\/p>\n
Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the former NNPC boss had $9.5million
\nbut officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who
\nraided his home may have stolen $300, 000.00 from the recovered loots.<\/p>\n
Yakubu who was in holidaying at the United States at the time of the raid
\nof his home, is a prosecuting witness of the EFCC in the case against
\nDiezani Alison-Madueke, former Petroleum Minister,<\/p>\n
EFCC operatives raided the home of Yakubu, former General Managing in
\nKaduna city on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The agents recovered $9.2 million from Mr. Yakubu’s safe and an additional
\n\u00a372,000. The EFCC said it was the largest sum of cash the commission had
\nrecovered in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
Mr. Yakubu was arraigned in June 2016 on allegations of money laundering.<\/p>\n
He served as GMD of NNPC from 2012 to 2014 during the Goodluck Jonathan
\nadministration. Premium Times reported in 2014 that the embattled GMD was
\nsacked after then Minister of Petroleum Resources Diezani Alison-Madueke
