Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party<\/p>\n
(PDP) Governors\u2019 Forum, Mr Ayodele Fayose has called on Nigerians to
\nrise in unison to pray to God to save Nigeria from imminent collapse,
\nlamenting that \u201cNigeria is in dire need of divine salvation at this
\ncritical time.\u201d<\/p>\n
The governor said it was time for men of good conscience to come
\ntogether, irrespective of the political affiliations to salvage the
\ncountry from this present state of uncertainty, which was occasioned
\nby the cluelessness and insincerity of the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC) led federal government, saying; \u201cIt is painful that those who
\nused falsehood to take over power are still ruling the country with
\nlies.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a release issued on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Public
\nCommunications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose asked;
\n\u201cFor how long is Nigeria going to be governed based on lies, vendetta
\nand political intolerance? For how long is this so-called fight
\nagainst corruption going to be about members of the opposition alone?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe economy is almost gone, with nothing being done to revive it.
\nRights of Nigerians to choose who govern them in a free, fair and
\ncredible election no longer exist. Even the rights of Nigerians to
\nlife is under threat under this government as people are now being
\nkilled helplessly.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike I said before, Nigeria is now more divided than ever before. The
\nnumber of Nigerians killed extra-judicially and by Boko Haram
\ninsurgents and herdsmen in the last 22 months far outnumbered those
\nwho lost their lives between 2011 and 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur country has now become a nation where you can only be corrupt if
\nyou are not in the good books of the Presidency.<\/p>\n
\u201cFour people can now be charged to court for alleged corruption this
\nmonth, and by next month, three of them will become prosecution
\nwitnesses after charges against them had been withdrawn. Not only
\nthat; those previously accused of corruption and charged to court are
\neven being appointed into sensitive positions.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven professional prosecutors hired by the federal government are
\nbeing frustrated out of their jobs just because they refused to dance
\nto the nepotistic tune of the cabal in the presidency.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost importantly, apart from economic uncertainty, the country is
\nalso faced with political uncertainty, such that there is palpable
\nanxiety as to what to expect next.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, Nigeria needs divine help more than ever before and lovers
\nof the country must keep praying to God to in His infinite mercies,
