Distributors of the Dangote foods companies, including Dangote Flour,
\nSugar and Salt smiled home last night as the management of the Companies
\ndoled out over N2 billion as rewards for their loyalty to the companies
\nover the past one year.<\/p>\n
At a colourful Gala night which the distributors were hosted to last
\nnight, top performers in each of the six geo-political zones as well as
\nnational leading distributors were duly recognised with plagues and cash
\nrewards of varying amounts.<\/p>\n
President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote said the recognition and cash
\nrewards was in the character of the Companies management to appreciate
\ntheir loyalty customers who stood by the organizations through thick and
\ntin.
\nHe explained that the management hold their distributors in high esteem
\nbecause they are the reason for the success recorded by them in 2016
\ndespite the economic challenges and the difficult operating environment
\nbusinesses found themselves.
\n\u201cOur achievements would not have been possible without you. You stood by
\nus through tick and thin. We appreciate the confidence reposted in us to
\nserve you. We came into these businesses at a time Nigerians have
\npreferences for imported foreign foods, even if inferior.
\n\u201cBecause you are behind us we have succeeded and today we take the lead
\nwhile others follow in ensuring we domesticated all our production
\nprocesses and by so doing good creating jobs locally\u201d
\nDangote informed the distributors of his Group\u2019s venture into rice
\nproduction saying it is a very ambitious project and that in two years
\ntime, Dangote Rice limited item will be churning out one million tonnes.
\nHe stated that mission of Dangote rice is to wipe out all imported rice
\nfrom\u00a0 the homes of\u00a0 Nigerians noting that by the time Dangote rice comes
\non stream, \u201cNigerians would not talk about Thai rice again, because our
\nrice will be finer than imported ones\u201d
\nWhile urging the customers to remain committed and loyal to Dangote
\nproducts, he promised that the managements of the food companies under
\nDangote Group would double the over N2billion billion given out as
\nrewards.
\nDangote disclosed the food companies would replicate\u00a0 the same achievement
\nrecorded in cement industry through backward integration such that every
\ncomponents of their production processes would be domesticated to ensure
\nall the products are available in\u00a0 all nooks and crannies of Nigeria and
\nat the same price.
\nAlso speaking, the Executive Director of Dangote Flour, Hajiya Halima
\nAliko-Dangote said what the companies did was just a token of appreciation
\nfor the volume sales recorded by the distributors despite the economic
\ndoldrum.
\nShe stated that the managements were encourage by the loyalty of the
\ndistributors to continue to invest in innovation and research extensively
\non how to make their products more consumer friendly continuously in line
\nwith the realities of the time.
\nIn his address of welcome email earlier, Chairman of the Dangote Flour,
\nMr. Asue Ighodalo said the distributors have proven to be dependable
\nallies with their patronage of Dangote products and loyal to the brands in
\nall circumstances.
\nThe Dangote Flour boss said 2016 was in\u00a0 it deed a difficult years for
\nmost businesses saying some closed down, some scaled down their operations
\nand in the process retrenchment their staff. Dangote food companies rather
\nabsorbed the substantial higher cost of inputs so that the customers would
\nremain in profitable business
\n\u201cHowever, it is to your credits our dear distributors that in that
\nparticular challenging year, Dangote Food companies waxed stronger,
\nproduced more, sold, more and gave returns to all stakeholders hence our
\ngathering together tonight. Tonight is your night, and tonight is your
\nday\u201d, he stated.
\nHe said no region in the country did not do well and that is why the
\ncompanies are happy to reward them bountifully. Ighodalo challenged them
