As stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) prepare to meet
\ntoday, Monday, February 20, in order to discuss the fall out of the Appeal
\nCourt judgement that re-instated Ali Modu Sheriff as the PDP national
\nchairman, Rep. Sam Onuigbo of Abia state has called for the party to mend
\nfences and move on.<\/p>\n
The member representing Ikwuano\/Umuahia North\/Umuahia South Federal
\nconstituency at the House of Representatives made the call while speaking
\nto newsmen in Abuja.<\/p>\n
According to Rep. Onuigbo,”It is in the interest of everyone for us to
\nsheath our swords and work together for the good of the nation and the
\ngrowth of our democracy.”<\/p>\n
Rep. Onuigbo noted that the lingering leadership crisis rocking the party
\nis limiting the party from being an effective opposition.<\/p>\n
He affirmed that for democracy to thrive, there must be a vibrant oppostion;<\/p>\n
“No plural democracy thrives without good opposition”<\/p>\n
He therefore called on the party’s leadership to find a common ground, and
\nwork things out in order to ensure that the party becomes strong enough to
