The Senator representing the Bayelsa East constituency in the Senate, Ben<\/p>\n
Murray-Bruce, has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the
\nallegation that Buhari\u2019s lawyers gave Justice Adeniyi Ademola half a
\nmillion naira gift has damaged Mr. President.<\/p>\n
Murray-Bruce also said the N200m allegedly spent by the Secretary to the
\nGovernment of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, had damaged Buhari far more
\nthan the opposition.<\/p>\n
Taking to his verified Twitter handle, Murray-Bruce had tweeted that \u201cThe
\nso-called \u2018gift\u2019 to Justice Adeniyi Ademola by PMB\u2019s lawyer and the SGF\u2019s
\ngrass cutter contract have damaged him far more than the opposition!\u201d<\/p>\n
It may be recalled that President Buhari had written the Senate in
\nresponse to the lawmakers\u2019 indictment of Lawal, calling for his removal
\nand prosecution.<\/p>\n
The Senate\u2019s call followed the interim report of its ad-hoc committee on
\ncertain humanitarian crisis in the North East led by Shehu Sani, which
\nindicted Lawal for receiving N200m contract to clear \u201cinvasive plant
\nspecies\u201d in Yobe State through a company, Rholavision Nigeria Limited.<\/p>\n
Again, A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Joe Agi, who is being prosecuted
\nalong with Justice Ademola of a Federal High Court, had told the
\nDepartment of the State Service that Buhari\u2019s lawyer paid N500,000 to
\nJustice Ademola in 2015 at the time the judge was presiding over Buhari\u2019s
\ncertificate case.<\/p>\n
Agi had claimed to the DSS investigator that the sum of N500,000 paid to
\nJustice Ademola by Awodein was not meant to be a bribe but a gift for the
