The Peoples Democratic Party \u00a0( PDP) has won the \u00a0Etche\/ Omuma Federal
\nConstituency after INEC \u00a0Returning Officer, Prof Shola Omotola\u00a0 completed
\nthe collation \u00a0of results at the Collation Center at Okehi.<\/p>\n
With the \u00a0results \u00a0collated\u00a0from the Supplementary Elections of February
\n25, 2017 and rerun elections \u00a0of December 10, 2016, Chief Jerome Eke \u00a0of
\nthe PDP \u00a0defeated \u00a0Mr Ogbonna Nwuke \u00a0of the APC.<\/p>\n
Also, the Tony Ejiogu \u00a0of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated his
\nclosest challenger, Mr Golden of the APC.<\/p>\n
For the\u00a0Etche\/ Omuma Federal Constituency, Returning Officer, Prof Shola
\nOmotola announced that APC \u00a0Polled\u00a06, 220 votes while PDP polled 15, 221
\nvotes.<\/p>\n
For the Etche State Constituency 2, Returning Officer, Oluwatosin Odusonya
\nannounced that APC \u00a0scored 1618 votes while PDP polled 4162 votes.<\/p>\n
As the two INEC \u00a0Returning Officers \u00a0for the Etche\/ Omuma Federal
\nConstituency, Prof \u00a0 Shola Omotola and\u00a0 Etche Constituency 2, Oluwatosin
\nOdusonya\u00a0were about to declare \u00a0the PDP \u00a0winner,\u00a0military personnel \u00a0at
\nthe Collation Center \u00a0brought a phone to them, claiming that the \u00a0call was
\nfrom the National Commissioner \u00a0of \u00a0INEC in charge of the election.<\/p>\n
Upon receiving \u00a0the call, INEC Returning Officer \u00a0for Etche\/Omuma Federal
\nConstituency, Prof Shola Omotola \u00a0stated that all collated results should
\nbe \u00a0moved to the Port Harcourt office of INEC.<\/p>\n
Soldiers of the Nigerian Army who stopped the declaration \u00a0at Okehi moved
\nthe collated results alongside party agents and political leaders to Port
\nHarcourt. \u00a0They were joined by PDP \u00a0leaders led by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo
\nWike \u00a0and the APC Candidate for Etche\/ Omuma Federal Constituency, Mr
\nOgbonna Nwuke.<\/p>\n
At the headquarters, leaders of the two parties insisted that the two INEC
\nReturning Officers \u00a0publicly announce collated results \u00a0to the media and
\nparty agents present.<\/p>\n
After the announcement, the INEC Returning Officers handed the \u00a0already
\ncollated results \u00a0to party agents.<\/p>\n
