The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has asked the federal
\ngovernment to stop the phone call games with President Muhammadu Buhari
\nand face governance issues that would alleviate the suffering of the
\nmasses.<\/p>\n
The Conference observed that the continued media hype of Mr. President\u2019s
\ncalls to different individuals were unnecessary since President Buhari has
\ntransmitted power to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who should not be
\ndistracted at this trying times.<\/p>\n
CNPP in a statement signed by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu on
\nTuesday, called on the National Assembly to openly investigate the
\nPresident Buhari\u2019s health status, adding that since the President has
\nofficially handed over power to the Acting President Osinbajo should be
\nallowed to work.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see the continued media hype of President Buhari\u2019s phone calls and
\npossible photoshopped pictures of individual visits to his London hospital
\nas a distraction.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy is Mr. President always calling from his sick bed to individuals at a
\ntime he should be resting to get well quick and return home?<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he can be talking to individuals, what is difficult about talking to
\nthe nation in a live broadcast, where some citizens can call in and get
\nhis response?\u201d, the CNPP queried.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Presidency should stop deceiving Nigerians and know that governance
\nmust not be based on lies and propaganda.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt a time the average Nigerian does not know where the next meal will
\ncome from, we see the presidency toiling with people\u2019s emotions rather
\nthan face governance issues to reduce the current suffering in the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n
\u201cEnough of phone calls from President Buhari. It is time for the ruling
\nparty to deliver on its campaign promises and make life better for the
\ncitizens of Nigeria\u201d, the CNPP said.<\/p>\n
While calling on the National Assembly to investigate the true health of
\nMr. President, the CNPP frowned at claims of consistent telephone
\nconversations to give instructions to the Acting President.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe true health status of President Buhari should be openly investigated
\nby the National Assembly for Nigerians to know how to pray for their
\npresident as we suspect that a few cabals in the President\u2019s cabinet are
\nusing his health challenges to milk the country dry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the cabal gives directives, they turn around and tell Nigerians that
\nthe instruction is coming from Mr. President. They should allow the Acting
\nPresident to work for Nigerians who elected them.<\/p>\n
But if the President is well enough to make daily phone calls, he should
\nreturn home and govern the country, which was why he was elected in the
