\nNational Petroleum Investment and Management Services, NAPIMS, a Corporate
\nServices Unit of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, did
\nnot spend $9million on staff transfer alone, neither did it commit
\n$2million to vehicles maintenance only.<\/p>\n

The $9million was reported to have been spent on staff transfers alone
\nduring a submission on NAPIMS\u2019s 2016 budget performance to Senate
\nCommittee on Petroleum, Upstream.<\/p>\n

The amount actually consisted of appropriated items on pension fund,
\nretirement benefit and staff transfers\/redeployment.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the $2million purportedly spent on vehicles maintenance,
\ncomprised budget items which included light vehicles Maintenance (3rd
\nParties and In-House); Light Motor Vehicle for Operation \u2013 Fueling; and
\nHeavy Motor Vehicle Maintenance (3rd Parties and In-House).<\/p>\n

NAPIMS also clarifies that it was erroneous to say that NAPIMS\u2019s General
\nManager, Joint Venture Oil Operations, Mrs Catherine Iheme,\u00a0 made the
\npresentation to the Senate Committee as contained in some media reports of
\nthe event, as she was indeed absent at the Senate Hearing.<\/p>\n

For the avoidance of doubt, NAPIMS, as a Corporate Services Unit of NNPC,
\nmaintains the Corporation\u2019s core values of Integrity, Transparency and
\nAccountability, with all its activities directed at adding value to the
\nhydrocarbon resources of the country for the benefit of all Nigerians and
\nother stakeholders in the Industry.<\/p>\n
