Senator Shehu Sani has described the EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu\u00a0 as a victim of the civil war between power blocs in President Muhammadu Buhari’s kitchen cabinet.<\/p>\n

According to him, the President should stop power blocs who are desirous of undermining and subverting his efforts.<\/p>\n

Sani said there are corrupt power blocs in the presidency whose \u201ccivil war\u201d cost Magu his confirmation as the substantive chairman of the EFCC.<\/p>\n

Speaking when he received representatives of the National Association of Muslim Law Students in his office on Thursday<\/span><\/span>, Sani became another elite voice to have raised concern about the President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s effective control of his government where his close allies and aides engage in open rivalry and crossfire.<\/p>\n

He said\u00a0 Buhari had made progress in the fight against corruption to \u201cgood degree\u2019 and also degraded Boko Haram.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Buhari is alone in the fight against corruption in the sense there are many persons around him who are corrupt.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey did not declare their assets publicly like the President, Osinbajo and myself, hiding under the secrecy law,\u201d Sani said.<\/p>\n

Sani said, \u201cthe Eight Senate is not \u201crubber stamp Senate, but it is also not dagger or sword Senate.\u201d<\/p>\n
