Says report not cast in stone<\/em><\/p>\n

Hopes of an end to the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
\nincreased on Wednesday<\/span><\/span> as Governor of Bayelsa State and Chairman of the
\nparty’s National Reconciliation Committee, Henry Seriake Dickson, met with
\nSenator Ahmed Makarfi-National Caretaker Committee leadership in Abuja.
\nDickson who arrived the temporary party secretariat of the Markafi group,
\nwas accompanied by a former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu.
\nAccording to him, the election of all officials of the party at state\u00a0 and
\nzonal levels before the botched May 21<\/span><\/span>, Port Harcourt Convention remains
\nvalid.
\nDickson reiterated his position that the report of his committee which
\nseeks to return peace and cohesion to the party was not cast in stone,
\nstressing that it could always be improved upon by the appropriate organs
\nof the party.
\nThe governor, along with other members of the Committee also promised to
\nmeet with other key organs of the party to present the template for
\nlasting peace in the PDP.
\nHe said, \u201cAll officials of the PDP at the state and zonal levels elected
\nbefore the May 21<\/span><\/span> botched Port Harcourt election convention remain valid.
\nMy committee will also meet with other key organs of the party to present
\nthe template. But let me add that this report is not cast in stone\u201d.
\nIn his response, Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State, promised to
\nstudy the template and relate with other organs of the party on the report
\nbefore making any serious pronouncement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
