{"id":56959,"date":"2017-03-26T23:53:43","date_gmt":"2017-03-26T22:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=56959"},"modified":"2017-03-27T05:33:45","modified_gmt":"2017-03-27T04:33:45","slug":"presidency-says-buhari-no-certificate-scandal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/presidency-says-buhari-no-certificate-scandal\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidency Says Buhari Has No Certificate Scandal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Presidency has said President Mohammadu Buhari has no scandal<br \/>\nassociated with his acadmic credentials, dismmissing allegations he failed<br \/>\nto produce his WASCE as spurious.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, the<br \/>\nPresidency said those who took the issue of President Buhari&#8217;s certificate<br \/>\nto the Court withdraw the case.<\/p>\n<p>He said evidence had been provided that showed that the President has<br \/>\nhigher qualifications than that required to run for the office of the<br \/>\nPresident.<br \/>\nThe statement read: \u201cWe wish to emphatically state that President<br \/>\nMuhammadu Buhari does not fit into categorisation of leaders with<br \/>\ncertificate scandals because he bears none that is on available records.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the course of the contest for the office of the President in 2015, a<br \/>\nnumber of wild, untrue and malicious allegations were made against him in<br \/>\norder to stop him from contesting for the office in the election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe issue of certificates was raised against him but the campaign<br \/>\nsuccessfully dealt with the allegations by providing evidence that not<br \/>\nonly was he qualified to run, he had a far higher academic qualification<br \/>\nthan is required by the constitution. As a result, he went on to run for<br \/>\nthe office and eventually win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the purpose of the challenge was primarily to stop him from being a<br \/>\ncandidate in that election, the challengers either voluntarily withdrew or<br \/>\nabandoned the cases soon after he won and all of them were subsequently<br \/>\nstruck off by the courts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President has no certificate case hanging on his neck.
