Kano state governor, Rabi\u2019u Musa Kwankwaso has said that all arrangements have been completed for the commencement of gigantic projects aimed at transforming Kano into a mega city.<\/p>\n
Gov. Kwankwaso made the remark in his office during a meeting with the project consultants on arrangement for the smooth take off of the projects. He said that the long awaited modern flyover project as well as five-kilometer roads projects, to be constructed in each of the 44 local government headquarters as well as modern trailer parks will commence in the next couple of days.<\/p>\n
He maintained that considering the nature of the six metropolitan local governments areas, the road projects will be in phases, where he said good arrangement has been made for the first round of the projects, as some areas has been demarcated to start with.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that to pave way for the projects execution, government had already set aside enough money for the full payment of compensation, to acquire enough land for the dual carriage way, emphasizing that where it is difficult one lane will be maintained.<\/p>\n
On street lights, governor Kwankwaso said having finished with the major roads, government will soon go to the streets in the Kano city to make the state a befitting one.<\/p>\n
\u2019\u2019I directed the Ministry of works to fix the street lights in most of the street in Kano city; we shall not hesitate to take any decision that will bring change in our society, may be the benefit will not come out now but later in the future\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n
Shedding light on the steps to tackle the lingering water shortage in the state capital, governor Kwankwaso revealed that the six hundred meter pipes to be laid from Challawa water treatment plant to Goron Dutse reservoir, to supply most of the communities of Dala, Fagge and some part of Ungogo local governments have arrived and laying work will soon commence.<\/p>\n
