Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has approved the appointment of six new<\/p>\n
Directors-General in the Sokoto State civil service, and a General Manager
\nfor Sokoto State Transport Company (SSTA).
\nA statement issued in Sokoto Tuesday by Tambuwal\u2019s spokesman, Malam Imam
\nImam, said the new General Manager is Chika Yusuf Sanyinna.
\nHe is currently the Acting Director, Planning, Research and Statistics at
\nthe State Contributory Health Management Agency.
\nThe new General Manager joined the service of Sokoto State as Assistant
\nStatistics Officer in 1988 and rose through the ranks to become the
\nAssistant Chief Statistics Officer in 2002.
\nWhile urging him to reposition the Transport Company and make it a model,
\nGovernor Tambuwal implored him to justify his appointment by adopting
\ninnovative measures that will enhance growth and development of the
\ntransport sector in the State.
\nMeanwhile, the Governor has approved the appointment of the following
\npersons as *DIRECTORS-GENERAL *in the Sokoto State Civil Service:<\/p>\n
*1.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0**HAUWA\u2019U ABUBAKAR MUHAMMAD:* Born on January 11, 1963 in Sokoto
\nSouth LGA. She\u2019s a holder of Bachelors and Masters Degree in Home
\nEconomics. She joined the State service in 1985 and became a Director in
\n2007. She has served the state effectively in the education sector and held
\nmany key positions.<\/p>\n
*2.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0**ZAINAB ABU SANI: *Born on August 4, 1964, she holds Bachelor of
\nScience degree in Sociology from then University of Sokoto, now Usmanu
\nDanfodio University, Sokoto. She began working career in the state civil
\nservice as Admin Officer on Grade Level 08 in 1986. She has served as
\nDirector of Administration in various ministries and departments. She hails
\nfrom Sabon Birni LGA.<\/p>\n
*3.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0**ZUBAIDA ALIYU HAIDARA:* Born on March 1, 1964, she holds a
\nBachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
\nin 1985. She joined the civil service of Sokoto State as Master II on GL08
\nin 1987 under the Ministry of Education, from where she rose to become a
\nDirector in 2012. She has also had a stint in the Ministry of Women
\nAffairs. She hails from Dogon Daji District in Tambuwal LGA.<\/p>\n
*4.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0**MOHAMMAD YAHAYA ISA: *Born on January 12, 1961 in Isa LGA, he
\nholds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from then
\nUniversity of Sokoto (now Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto) in 1985. He
\njoined the State Service in 1986 and became a substansive Director in 2010.
\nHe\u2019s presently the Director, Careers under the Office of Secretary to the
\nState Government (SSG).<\/p>\n
*5.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0**LADAN TAFARKI BALARABE:* A native of Alkanchi in Sokoto North
\nLGA, he was born on June 21, 1962. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Combined
\nHonors in History\/Political Science from bayero University, Kano in 1985.
\nHe joined the Sokoto State Civil Service on GL08 in 1986. He became a
\nsubstansive Director on GL 16 in 2012. He has served as Director of
\nAdministration in various Ministries and Departments. He was at one time
\nthe General Manager at the state Housing Corporation and State Transport
\nCompany.
\n*6.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0**AMINU UMAR AHMED: *Born on February 3, 1966, the officer is a
\nnative of Ya\u2019Akija in Sokoto South LGA. He holds a Registered Nurse
\nCertificate from School of Nursing, Sokoto in 1998. He joined the State
\nCivil Service as student Nurse on GL03 in 1987. Upon successful completion
