Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose\u00a0 has described the report of
\nthe discovery and release of 82 additional Chibok girls from Boko
\nHaram captivity as diversionary tactics aimed at diverting attention
\naway from the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n
The governor said; What is not missing cannot be found. Despite the
\nstrenuous efforts at cover-up, discerning Nigerians understand that
\nthe stories do not add up.”<\/p>\n
In a press statement released in Ado-Ekiti, on Sunday by his Chief
\nPress Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, the governor said it had become
\nthe pastime of the Buhari Presidency that each time it was under fire
\nfor under-performing or had serious issues it could not sufficiently
\nexplain to the people, \u201cit resorts to flying dubious kites and selling
\ncheap dummies to distract the people and obfuscate the issue at hand\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight now, a matter of urgent national importance arresting the
\nattention of all and sundry is that of the President\u2019s health. While I
\ncontinue to pray, in conjunction with other Nigerians, for the
\nPresident\u2019s quick recovery, I condemn without equivocation this
\nshameless playing on the intelligence and psyche of Nigerians taking
\nundue advantage of the vexed issue of the so-called Chibok girls.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has become the style of this government to distract attention but
\nthe truth will be told some day.<\/p>\n
“The questions are; Which Chibok girls are they talking about? Chibok
\ngirls who purportedly were writing Physics WAEC examinations but
\ncannot speak simple English? Chibok girls who were shielded from the
\nmedia? Till today the media have not been allowed access to the
\nso-called Chibok girls.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen is the next batch of Chibok girls coming? When is the next
\nmake-believe?<\/p>\n
“When there is the need for another cover-up, distraction and
\ndiversion of the people\u2019s attention and focus, they will fly their
\nusual kite and sell the self-same jaded dummy\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n
Saying that this penchant of the Buhari presidency has now become \u201ca
\ncomical and circus show; and a theatre of the absurd\u201d, Fayose enjoined
\nNigerians to, however, keep hope alive and not be despondent.<\/p>\n
\u201cKeep hope alive because there will be a new dawn in our country
\nsooner than later. The hunger and suffering in the land are at an
\nunprecedented level right now while the cluelessness and incompetence
\nof this government beggars believe.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition, the intolerance of this government and the way they are
\ntrampling people\u2019s rights, and abridging their freedoms and liberties
\nbring echoes of the dictatorship and autocracy of Gen. Buhari\u2019s first
\ncoming in 1985.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is very unfortunate that we brought ourselves to this sorry pass\u00e9.
\nI sounded warnings which, unfortunately, were not heeded but, then,
